Midwest Trail Ride Is Horseback Riding & Camping At Its Best
Midwest Trail Ride is in Norman, Indiana which is very close to Brown County or "little" Nashville, Indiana. We have been camping there for years. It is a privately owned business with 200 miles of well marked trails, a ghost town, showers, toilets, kitchen to purchase meals, tack shop, lighted stalls with sawdust, firewood for sale, primitive or electric/water sites, cabins & bunk houses, scheduled events that may include clinics, bands and meals. Their trails connect to the Hoosier National Forest which tags can be purchased at the Midwest Trail Ride office. Their tack shop is stocked with all your tack needs plus items for your home. The owners and workers here are very friendly and helpful. We have been there for scheduled rides and our own camping times. The bunk houses and cedar log cabins have electric and bunk beds (sleeps 2-4 people). Deluxe log cabins are heated and air conditioned - just bring your own bedding. The food is home-cooked and very good. We've enjoyed the clinics and bands. We've always met very friendly horse lovers and enjoyed each visit. We love the scenic rides and peaceful, relaxing feeling of being in the woods. We also feel much better knowing our horses are stalled instead of tied. Plus, you can look out at anytime of the night and see what your horses are doing in the lighted stalls. This is a must for any horse lover that enjoys camping.
