My dog hated to be in one of the plastic closed up crates. Not to mention none of them were big enough for him to stretch out while he slept. I bought the cage his is in now for approximately $70 and didnt really realize how big it was. After seeing him grow over the next 2 months though I was very glad it was big. With any cage it will take up alot of space but atleast this one is virtually indistructable. My dog has bent the bars while throwing a tantrum about being locked up while I was away but honestly with any cage that will happen with my dog because he's as strong as an ox. He did however figure out yet again how to chew on the bars till he could slide the latches both open and get out but a simple pad lock stopped that problem. Comfort wise I just throw a blanket in there for him that smells like me and he's as happy as can be now and doesnt have a problem being in there at all. Loves it actually
