I've had this microwave for a couple of years now and it still works well. I haven't had any problems with it. I can't see anything that I would change about it either. It was one of the cheaper models we looked at and I am pretty sure we chose it because it was the cheapest. I believe it came in black and whit and we chose black. we liked that we had an option in colors and black and white were safe colors for them to offer. It has the carousel plate that spins your food while it cooks and I love that. The plate easily comes out and is washable. I love that. The controls I think took me awhile...

I purchased a GE 1.1 cubic foot countertop microwave model # JES1139 at PC Richards in 2006...it started giving me problems about 2 1/2 years later. The microwave would turn off in the middle of cooking...the clock would turn off...the turn table would turn, but the food wasn't cooking! Then about 6 months later it died. I think I paid about $120 for it, so it wasn't the cheapest model! I really think it should of lasted longer than 3 years! My Panosonic microwave lasted 16 years! G E Turntable Microwave Oven
I only buy GE appliances, they are always dependable. This microwave was a replacement of my previous microwave oven. The glass turntable broke and it was cheaper to buy a new microwave oven then a whole new dish. I do recommend this product to anyone who has to reheat food. Its small in side, so i haven't used it for cooking. We reheat dinner plates, coffee, and sometimes a fast snack. I did due diligence with this purchase especially after having purchased several microwaves that lasted just past warranty--why purchase extended warranties here when so many of these ovens cost less than when I purchased this one. The emerson microwave oven is so easy to use i wonder why everyone doesn't have one. It has large numbers that are easy to see for older eyes like mine so i dont have to look around for my glasses just to read it. I like my sharp microwave because it is pretty big. I like that it doesn't take very long to warm up food. I has quite a few options of how one can cook or heat food. What I don't like is that while heating food it is quite noisy. makes a muffled roaring sound and when closing the door on it, its also noisy. I wish it was a quieter version of it. I have had this microwave for 3 months. I was concerned about the size but the price was right. So far considering the size, II find it works quite well, heats food adequately and I have had no problems with it. I do however do not care for the glass turntable. I does not sit on the wheels consistantly. I find I have to readjust it frequently.
