My dad and my sister both own iPods. I desperately wanted one of my own, until I saw the the newest product on the market at the time: the Microsoft Zune. — — "Holy cow, look at that screen," I thought. As a photographer and budding home video editor, it definitely peaked my interest.… read full review »

When I first met my Zune, I was overjoyed.  I loved it more than any other gadget I had ever known.  It was easy to use, had cool features that the iPod never considered,  and an excellent battery life.  Plus, the satisfaction of being able to click the… read full review »

Microsoft's been down the music player road before but took a hideous wrong turn. People who followed Microsoft met BadResults(tm) when their online web site went belly up and they couldn't buy new media. Stale content was the tip of the iceberg since Microsoft's poorly thought out rights scheme requires an online site server to periodically recertify content. — The Zune is a new take with a new online content portal, but similar badly thought out schemes. DRM content is the first humongous GOTCHA when dealing with Microsoft's online presence. Bad usability is the next --- the thing is… read full review »

This mp3 video player is of a great value. The brown version is at $149.98 and that is considerably comparble to other video players that has its similar functions. This is unlike any player i have seen. Any teen would love this for the holidays.Other than that the hard shutdown is a bit annoying as a result it has to keep building its libary(like the sansa),inculding the problem of a short battery life if not handled correctly, an inexperinced user may kill the       rechargeble battery  quickly which is by the way Lithum Ion. It can be addictive and this… read full review »

My son wanted an MP3 for Christmas and due to advertising and their commonality, of course the first thing everyone recommended was IPOD, but then a person whom I work with and who deals with electronics vendors daily, pointed out that other companies have great quality products, at lesser cost, due to lesser advertising budgets....They specifically recommended the Zune and I was able to purchase a 30 gig for less money than the 8 gig IPOD, and my son was thrilled, because he has room for his entire musical library collection, plus space left over for video or more music.  I did purchase… read full review »

I picked up a refurbished Zune 30 not long ago when I saw one for a great price.  It was totally worth it.  I knew I needed something with a screen, because I loathe the 'what the heck is playing' I get using my wife's 1 GB Ipod Shuffle.  Sometimes it would wander off and start playing, well, who knows what, which, to be blunt, stinks when you're trying to listen to a book!  I'm not a fan of the Ipod's appearance and love the black with blue accent of the sturdy Microsoft Zune.  30 GB is quite a bit of storage, although I already find myself eyeing the 80 GB (with a… read full review »

After owning an outdated silver iPod mini since 2005, I decided to upgrade to a device that would let me store videos, photos, and plenty of music. I didn't want to get the overly priced iPod classic, so I opted for the Microsoft Zune--30GB. The specifications looked perfect, so I ordered online from dell.com and received it on my doorstep in about a month. — — Features — 1. Music — 2. Videos — 3. Photos — 4. Radio — 5. Wireless — 6. Accesories — — 1. The album artwork is vibrantly displayed on the 3" screen, and you can opt to… read full review »

First, the pros. The Zune has a lot of software that its competitor, the ipod, does not. This includes the radio and the ability to wirelessly send songs to fellow zune users. In some stores (online included) the zune is better-priced than the 30 GB ipod, although some consider it to have more features than the ipod. The Screen is substantially larger than that of the 30 GB ipod, which is good for easy video-music viewing. Now, for some cons. Like many Mp3 players, when played loudly, the battery does tend to drain quickly, as opposed to the 14 hour battery life advertised on the packaging.… read full review »

I received my Microsoft Zune MP3 player as a gift and was surprised and elated! It's easy to use, has a large screen for viewing videos, pictures, and podcasts, and great sound. So far I've got about 2,000 songs on it, maybe a hundred pix (and counting!) and several podcasts. It's easy to load content straight from your PC. — It was hard to find accessories at first, what with everyone catering to the IPod; that and the fact that my Zune was one of the limited edition (pink) ones:), so of course everything was expensive! This is why I have yet to purchase the… read full review »

Once you get over youre friends laughing at you & the unusually complicated installation, you will grow to love the Microsoft Zune.I am indeed an Ipod lover, and was a little hesitant to purchase this at first, but then i saw the 30GB for only 90$,and i thought what could i lose?Turns out nothing, this device has all the functionality and features of an Ipod,in a way more elegant interface, which you can tweak to your liking by applying wallpapers.Music orginazation is solid,on the player and the software, although the software is a bit of a CPU hog on your computer.Album art is a significant part… read full review »

This review is for Zune 30GB model, running the newly release Zune 2 software ecosystem. — The new software and firmware really created a feature complete device for me. It is now able to download most any audio/video files that are on my PC onto the device, by converting as needed. Also, Podcasting feature that was the biggest missing thing is now finally available. — The software runs fast and looks very pretty on a Windows Vista PC that I have, and really integrates well with the Zune Marketplace to purchase songs and the Auto-Synching with the device. With Video Podcasts, you… read full review »

I love this MP3 Player!  I have the 30-GB, but I wish I would have waited for the 80-GB because I hear it's slightly slimmer.  The 30-GB is a larger device than most MP3 players, but the quality is great!  The screen is awesome!  It shows crystal clear videos and pics, as well as the album cover of the song your listening to.  It is easy to upload music to it.  AND  the coolest part of this player is the Zune Marketplace!!!  You can buy songs and albums (songs usually $.79 each).  BUT you can also share music and download music ont oyour PC and… read full review »

I bought my Zune for 250 dollars in Jan of of this year and I love it!  I have used about 17gigs of space.  I think I probably will use the 30gb, because  collect cds and digital tracks.  But you can always delete off tracks or reformat the zune and start again.  I have a black Zune and had considered an iPod, but the screen on the Zune is larger and it has an FM radio.  If your songs are copyright protected they cannot be loaded on your Zune.  Your tracks have to be in the Zune Media Player Software (just like MIcrosoft Media Player) in order for the… read full review »

I got my Microsoft Zune this June (2007) when it had first arrived on the marketplace in the original black, and I absolutely LOVE it.  There is not a single day that I have failed to use it since my purchase, and the quality of music is UNBELIEVABLE... — Not to mention -- college students -- the huge amount of space on the Zune's hard drive make it essentially an enormous USB port.  You can stick images, papers, documents, movies -- basically anything you need for classes -- onto the Zune itself, and tote it around to libraries and classes to plug into any computer you need… read full review »

With the release of the new models, last years 30 gb Zune becomes the best valut for those seeking more than a couple of gigs.  30 gigs is plenty for hundreds and hundreds of cds, thousands and thousands of photos and a couple of movies available, which you can easily replace.  Loadig content is easy with the (required) included program which provides a good and easy layout of your collection and the devices content.  Group and title information comes up autimatically via your internet connection, although for the few titles where it doesn't, and is listed as "unknown artist" I… read full review »
