This is a great device for music, but it has flaws in video playing, it has a closed app marketplace, and an outdated browser. It is ONLY good for music, but it does that GREAT. Sound Quality The sound quality is akin to the newest I-Pod touches, and the downside i see here is no external speakers. Performance It has limited support for games and the built in browser it outdated, so it has no flash or new HTML version support. Battery Life The battery life isn't great for anything but music. For that if you have the brightness on low settings, you can get 5-6 hours of music. It is great for those long car rides Durability My favorite part of this device is how ruggid it is. The back is a grained metal, so it doesn't scratch easily, and the screen hasn't cracked after my 3 years of using it. I would recommend a screen protector just in case. Ease of Use Everything you use frequently is up front, but the lack of access options if annoyoing. Sorting is limited, and the internet app is bad. Design This is not great just because of the lack of user interface features (cameras, speakers, microphones) of which is has none.

My Zune experience. I started out with an 80GB Zune a year or so after they were first introduced. Through the years, I have moved on up from a 120GB Zune now to a 64GB Zune HD. Microsoft created a product for music lovers. While I do not have any complaints with the Zune device itself. Microsoft Zune software and rights to entertainment is a little outdated. Now, maybe I say this because I never had a Ipod or any other device, but after you make a purchase of any item and try to reload that item on a different computer or device if your previous device - ZUNE, LAPTOP, TABLET, etc. - was lost or stolen is a headache. However, the Zune itself is great. The screen is a good size and can hold a lot of music, movies, pictures and even includes FM radio, internet and wifi to access that internet and zune market place. I love the device and would recommend it to anyone, however, I would say be mindful of the price because that is one downside to the zune. It is just to expensive. Sound Quality The sound quality is amazing. Battery Life When you watch movies or music videos, that does eat up battery life. But in all the battery life is good. Durability I dropped my Zune HD many times since I got it a year or two ago and it still works very well.

i love it, for the price there's a little room for improvement, but i remember when it first came out, i wouldn't have paid any more than 200 for it, i have a first gen zune and i can remember it costing me around 150 for it, which was much now they go used for 75. Sound Quality with skull candy ear buds...VERY clear and sounds great! and i love the choice of being able to turn up the bass, or turn it down or to have it in metal mode or classical.. Performance with is had a record function i live near the ocean and would love to record the sounds of the waves crashing to play back at bed time. also maybe a front side camera, having a 2 year old toddler leaves for many many many candid moments i've missed bc of not having a camera at my grasp. Battery Life if just casually listening to music it gets a few hours, while surfing the web watching video's AND listening to music..maybe an hour or 2. Durability sweat proof?....i tuck mine in my sports bra strap on my chest and as much as i've sweated on it, it's never given me any problems!.but i do plan on getting one of those around the neck pouches just so i'm not chancing any sweat getting deep into it and frying it!. Ease of Use takes some getting used to but once you get it, its cake! it took me a few days to adjust to the many different menu options of the thumbnails, and all that, i prefer to go by pictured than words, so mine's set up very graphically.

I got my first zune about 3 years ago and was amazed how much music it was capable of holding. I love how easy to Zune is to use, and how easy it is to restart, reset, and update the device. The device is very durable, and the sound quality is very impressive. I love how quick the Zune charges, and the battery still lasts forever. It's a perfect product.

This item is the best zune ever, they should have never stopped making them as they were just getting to full stride when they pulled the plug on this magnificent line of devices. Sound Quality Great sound quality as is the usual with all the previous zunes. Wish they would have kept using the premium headphones bundles in. Durability The metal housing makes this a durable device that probably wont break unless you drop it face down & break the screen. I know a lot of people who hated the Zune because of it's unflattering design in the past, but with the Zune HD that isn't a problem anymore. This is one of the sleekest mp3 players available right now. People who love touch screens should definitely consider getting the Zune HD. It also comes in 16 GB and 64 GB versions. If you buy it from the official Zune website, you can customize your device with the color, design, and engraving of your choice. The Zune software is easy to use and has free games and apps like Sudoku for you to download. I like the Smart DJ feature that creates a playlist for you out of similar artists. You get HD radio which is a welcome feature but one that I don't use very much.  The device is really lightweight compared to the older generations of Zunes. You can put it in your pocket or purse and barely notice it's there. The screen is crisp and excellent for watching music videos, movies, and podcasts.  I'm a big fan of the redesigned menu. It used to be a pain to drag through all the artists looking for what I wanted to listen to. Now you can select the artist/song/album you want by clicking the letter that it starts with.

If you're looking for a solid alternative to the Apple Ipod, the Microsoft Zune HD is a reliable, solid music player. The user interface is solid and the software package that accompanies the device is intuitive. The only complaint is the amount of support Microsoft provides the Zune. The product was launched with the idea of becoming an Ipod competitor in all facets, but Microsoft has failed to provide the app support to back up that claim. As a result, the device is essentially a fancy music player.

i really love this mp3 player so much. it has so much memory so i can put so many songs on it. this mp3 player is so stylish and hip. it also is very friendly and super easy to use. i also love the price. it's very reasonable. i also love the fact that it is microsoft. i recommend this to everyone. i know that it's not an apple ipod, but in my opinion it's better. i love it so much that everyone that i know who loves music i end up buying this mp3 player for a gift. even my teenager loves this product. yeah i understand that it doesn't have any apps, but i honestly don't care. that's why i have my cellphone to use apps. this product is just so great that i would buy millions of them if i could.

I bought this Zune because i love to listen to music. it is also a great gadget because of the amount of memory it has on it. The other advantage is that i am able to save money by buying this Zune, than by getting an Apple product. The zune is very thin and easy for me to carry when i travel. The ease of using it is every simple and the instructions that it comes with are also easy for me to follow. When i turn it on, i can adjust the brightness of the screen so i can see better. The zune came with a pair of earphones, but they are not that good. When i use it, i try to put a cover around it so it is safe from harm if it is dropped. The colors i am able to choose from when buying the zune are great as well because i can pick from a variety of colors.

Let me just start out by saying that this product is great for, and only for, audiophiles (people who love music). Everything about this device was designed with the music in mind. The sound quality is great, the earphones are top notch, the menus are easy to navigate and play with, and the software is very visually appealing to complement album art. That being said, this device is not for people who are all about the music. There are very few "apps," which I hear is a big problem. Unfortunately, people would judge a music player on how well it plays games. Some downfalls of this product is lack of support. Microsoft has stopped updating Zune software, so what you see now is what you get. It's unfortunate that such a great mp3 player has lost to the inferior Apple product, but such is the way of public demand.
