Microsoft - Zune (80GB) Media Player Review

 I like this product (Zune)more than any other MP3 player I have had before. Right now I have about 150 songs and maybe 35 movies and TV shows, and I hvae only used about 6 1/2 gbs because of the compression of the Mp4. I also really like this product because it comes with the premium headset. They really do sound good! It actually pleased me, because they are not the cheap junk you usually get with MP3 players.

 It is very easy to get the song/movies on the Zune once you add the folders you want the software to search. It also does not take up tons of room on your computer, either (hello Ipod/Itunes!!).

 The songs on the Zune come through very clearly, and the battery life is not too bad when listening to songs...Sometimes I go to sleep at night listeningto it, and when I wake up, it is still playing in my ear. The only downfall, in my opinion, is the fact that there does not seem to be any type of equalizer on the Zune. I would say that it would be perfect if it had a bass amplifier on it.... Anyway, I give the Zune a 9 3/4, just because of the lack of an equalizer. But other than that, the audio is awesome. On most songs, you really don't need to turn up the bass. The sound is just that good. Oh, and as far as volume, that is also pristine. It can get VERY loud, so you have to be careful not to put it in your ear if you had it turned up and hooked to your car stereo. I did that once and nearly popped my eardrums (I think literally!!!).

Anyway, on to the video. The screen is an AWESOME 3.2 inch screen, which is MUCH bigger than the other players I have had. It is also very easy to get the movies on the Zune if you already have them downloaded to your computer in MP4 format. If you do not have them in MP4 format, the Zune software will convert it, but it takes a while. I have found that it is easier to use my free converter software (PSP Vidora Video 9) to convert the movies to MP4 and then add it to one of the folders that the Zune software searches. Just a tip :)  Anyway, I have found that the screen makes even animated movies (like American Dad TV show) look very good. Almost like HD quality. I have watched so many movies on my Zune since I got it (a few weeks ago), it is rediculous! I have also noticed that you can get away with watching it at work during down time, because it is also very easy to tote-even with the nice large screen!

The last thing that I really like is the touch pad. You do have the option of turning it off, but it is so convenient to just touch it and have it do what you want...I dont know why you would turn that feature off, but you do have that option.... Anyway. I just really REALLY love this Zune already. And I have even learned that when you go to the Zune website, you can even put games on it! You have to download a program from Microsoft to do that...I will try that tonight:)
