Let me start off by saying that if you don't know your gigabytes from your gigahertz then this product is not for you, plain and simple. The ultimate version of Microsoft's latest operating system is pricey, chock full of features and aimed at the computer professional. I, like so many other power users, frankly am tired of the whining. You can't install Vista on your old HP and expect it to work well, you can't expect your outdated programs to run on a whole new architecture and finally you can't expect something better if you want it to work with all the old software you've been complaining about since they released it.

The bottom line is Vista is bulletproof when used properly and the software that is written specifically for Vista is fast and stable. Vista Ultimate is the operating system that is specifically designed to run on expensive, high powered machines that are typically hand built by dedicated enthusiasts. If you want something cheap, fast and simple XP is the product for you. If you just finished building a new quad core based PC and are looking for that perfect environment to utilize the ridiculous power of that new PC, presenting Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate... not for the faint of heart.

You would be the first person to install Vista on excellent machine. The rest of the reviewers are still running it on an outdated P4. Kudos
