Most HelpfulJust when you think Microsoft no longer listens and/or cares about those of us with Windows XP...they surprise us with Internet Explorer 8. It's not THAT much different from Internet Explorer 7, but you can customize it a lot more than the old browser.
I chose to keep things pretty much as they were...

Most HelpfulBottom-Line: Frankly, I can take or leave this version of Internet Explorer.
I remember Microsoft's first iteration of Internet Explorer released in the mid-1990's; the interface was clunky, slow, ugly, and not very user friendly. That earlier release was based upon the Mosaic web browser developed...
review »For several weeks, the folks at Yahoo had been offering me a chance to move on up the road to the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. Alas, as someone who is admittedly not much of a "techie", I will admit that I tend to settle into a comfort zone and stay there. If it had been up to only people like me, we may well be getting around in horses and carriages to this very day. It goes without saying that I put up a resistance at first but after the offering turned into active coaxing on behalf of Yahoo (and I began to read glowing reviews of Explorer 8 in ViewPoints), I decided to give it a shot. ...
review »I use the internet everyday, so I really rely on my Internet Explorer. When I heard there was an upgrade to Internet Explorer 8, I had to try it. The installation process was so simple. I just went to the Windows website and it downloaded fast. I have the Vista on my computer and it updated automatically to the new settings when I restarted the computer. I like the new browser because it has a few upgrades, such as being able to restore the pages you were on if it accidentally closes, you can view sites the browser thinks you will like and upgraded security and safety precautions. You...
review »I upgraded to IE8 almost as soon as it became available. It's an improvement over IE 7, with more features and just as fast and efficient.
I like the look of IE8 - it's attractive and elegant. I really apprecaite its privacy features. You can set it to automatically delete your web history when you close your browser an you can also open an "in private" window where none of your history is stored. This is useful for people who are serious about online privacy. Also, IE8 makes it easy to return to your favorite sites. When you start typing a URL into the address bar, your most often visited sites...
review »Now when I first got the notice to update my browser from Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 to 8 I was like cool they have a new version of the browser, what are they adding or changing now. But now that I've had it for a couple of days, its been a headache. The new Explorer 8 is always crashing. Tabs are always closing or having errors and I have to seend to microsoft and then automatically reload on their own. It's frustrating. It seems slower. Some pages don't always connect when I put the address in the address box. So thats the defaults but soem of the cons are I like the different...
