Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 —

For several weeks, the folks at Yahoo had been offering me a chance to move on up the road to the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.  Alas, as someone who is admittedly not much of a "techie", I will admit that I tend to settle into a comfort zone and stay there.  If it had been up to only people like me, we may well be getting around in horses and carriages to this very day.  It goes without saying that I put up a resistance at first but after the offering turned into active coaxing on behalf of Yahoo (and I began to read glowing reviews of Explorer 8 in ViewPoints), I decided to give it a shot.  I'm glad I did.

There are so many sophisticated advantages to this new browser version that I have not even begun to appreciate or even notice all of them yet.  One that "hooked" me right away was the great URL history feature.  Have you ever noticed how frustrating it is to not quite remember a URL name and so not be able to call it up?  With Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, even if you just know part of it, it will call up a list of all the possible URL's to choose from.  Not only that, but now we can actually delete something out of the URL history if we want, thereby weeding out erroneous or simply discontinued URL sites.

AT&T Yahoo! Mail Classic seems to be part of the deal and also offers many advantages including selective display of attached images at the discretion of the recipient, an easier method for flagging messages, a better way to sort personal folders and forward messages as attachments.  Especially great is the way it will save your material on a page should you suddenly be disconnected somehow, which means preventing the loss of text which you might have put a lot of thought into.

Except for the mixed feelings I have about the adjutant upgrade to McAfee Anti-Virus Software and Internet Security which has also just happened, I would have no complaints at all about my computer now and I look forward to discovering many more new features, improvements and advantages in Microsoft Internet Browser 8 as time goes by.  Best of all, this upgrade was free and easy to install, even for someone who like me who is not a "techie."

Nah, I think it is more likely that I am DOWNRIGHT HOPELESS (to say nothing of HELPLESS) and just haven't realized it yet!

Maybe you're a probationary techie and just haven't realized it yet!
