Fable, the Lost Chapters allows the user to begin with his/her character as a child and advance throughout his "career" as a hero with every single moral decision toward "good" or "evil" the character makes shaping the characters appearance and the reactions of the NPC's towards the "Hero" (NPC- Non player characters such as villagers, guards, etc.) Shortly after gameplay begins, the childs' village is attacked and the child will be rescued and taken to a "Hero academy" to be trained. Thus the term "Hero" whether you decide to be good or evil.
There are many quests available in the game, some being side quests (bronze) simply there to amuse, others (silver) to allow the "Hero" to gain the experience he will need to aquire spells, strength, skill, etc, and advance. Completion of "Gold" or main quests is required to advance through and complete the game. Your hero will have many lovelies fall in love (or lust) with him through the course of the game and can even get married if you finagle it right! Don't worry, the "significant" scenes are blacked out, though you may want to turn down the sound a bit if your children are in the room. The wives of my particular Heroes never did have children however, though there are certainly children present in the game, so I am not sure if that is possible.
I thouroughly enjoyed playing Fable, The Lost Chapters and found the changes my Hero underwent while achieving his course toward good or evil absolutely fascinating. The reactions he elicited in the course of each were equally amusing. Completing the entire game took around 22 hours each time (not consecutive of course!!, I wish!) The save game feature calculates how long you have been playing at the point of each save and informs you of this when you sign back on. Handy and convenient.
