No Computer Needed for Photos, Why pay $25 a Disc, Copy photos to CD

The Bottom Line:  $40 at Circuit City, was a gift to us to try this item.  It is a dream come true. Fast copying of 200 photos to a CD to save for life.

With luggage at 50# even internationally, we have to carry less & less. So leaving the laptop at home is a plus with Roadstor 401010. I learned of this through a cruising newsgroup. We went to Circuit City, up the street from us, and they had it on sale $110 & a $70 rebate making is a $40 item!

It comes with everything you need to run it, recharge it, even CD-R's...... We opened the box & found the Roadstor, size of a DVD viewer. It also included with a nice selection of A/V cables which husband was delighted with, a Remote Control with batteries another plus that they included batteries, the CD-R/W burner unit with a proprietary battery pack, some CD-Rs, a joke of a small User's Guide, and a recharger in a sturdy yet soft case. This also fits nicely in the carry on with the cameras.

So now we have to record something to test it with, so husband pulls out Sony memory stick from our Transatlantic cruise from last week. He pops it into the Roadstor & it just transferred all the photos taken with our 5.1 Sony digital in under 10 minutes. AMAZING! Too bad it doesn't do videos to DVDs too! Maybe that is next........

Now we just returned from a 3 week Asian cruise - WOW! Our Roadstor earned its great rating from me this trip. of Asia! Do you know how many memory sticks we would have needed to take over 1000 photos? Answer - 2!  Our Roadstor copied 200 photos onto each CD saving us $35 per CD that the cruiseline charges to get it done.   So we made $15 a CD by copying friends CDs on the cruise saving them money.

This is well worth the price, the hastles of not getting shots to remember the trip. And the size fits right into the carry on in the camera bag with the video cam & digital cameras.

Just keep re-shooting on each memory stick after copying for endless photos.
