Being a Work At Home Mom there are many days when I am too busy to cook a lunch, but I enjoy a hot lunch, and I also have a 4 year old home with me all day who would be happy to eat macaroni and cheese everyday if I let him.  Soon the other two kids will be home for the summer and I will have to cook more, but when it is just me and my 4 year old most days we eat either left overs or frozen meals for lunch.  My son loves the Michelina's Macaroni and Cheese wheels, so while I was at store getting those the Michelina's Stuffed Pepper Casserole caught my eye.  Normally I for the diet stuff, but this really looked good so I up a couple of them for myself.

The reason I think this looked so good to me is because I love chili and rice.  This frozen meal has hamburger meat, green pepper, rice, and sauce.  It is kind of like chili but not exactly.  It has a rich tomato and meaty flavor and you can definitely taste the green peppers.  it is actually all the ingredients that would be in a stuffed green pepper, but instead it is made in to a casserole, and the green peppers in are in the rice instead of vica versa.  It has a nice rich taste, I like the taste very much.  Unfortunately there is not enough and I was still hungry after eating it.

The ingredient list is also quite large.  There of course real ingredients, it is a mixture between natural flavorings, and not so natural flavorings and preservatives.

The Michelinas Stuffed Pepper Casserole is very inexpensive, I bought mine on sale for $1.00, regular price is only like $1.25.

To prepare you cook this right in its own container.  All you do is lift up one corner of the lid to vent, then you cook it for 3 minutes in the microwave, after 3 minutes carefully lift the lid and stir, then put it back in the microwave for another 1 1/2 minutes.

One package is a full serving and it will provide 280 calories and 10 grams of fat. It has 3.5 grams of saturated fat, 30 mg of cholesterol, 940 mg of sodium, 32 grams of carbohydrate, 2 grams of fiber, 4 grams of sugar, and  there are 11 grams of  protein.

It provides 6% of the RDA of Vitamin A, 4% Calcium, 50% Vitamin C and 8% iron.

As you can see it provides a half a days serving of vitamin C which is nice.  However it is very high in sodium.  This is obviously not a diet frozen food item.  But it is OK to eat something like the occasionally.

I would give this a B- if I had to grade it.  It takes really good, and it is very inexpensive, however the portion is not quite enough to fill an adult, and it does have a lot of sodium.

It didn't have any other actual vegetable pepper, but pepper might have been one of the seasonings. But there is no pepper other than the green pepper that you can actually see or taste.

Good review. Did it have any othtype of pepper in it? I think I would try it with a small salad.

Hey it's been years since I had a stuffed pepper. Bet the last one I had was cooked by Mom, back decades ago. :>
