Michael Jackson: This Is It Reviews

Okay, I know that PattyTherre and I were going to see the Michael Jackson movie This Is It on the same day.  I haven't read her review yet but I will as soon as I finish mine.  Going to this movie was interesting for me.  First of all, my coworker couldn't go so I ended up going by myself yesterday.  Then I got there and we soon realized that I was the only one in the theater.  I sent a message to Patty on Twitter and let her know I was in the movie by myself.  A private showing perhaps?

Let me set the record straight: I'm not a Michael Jackson fanatic. I wasn't first in line at the movie theater to see This Is It. However, I'm SO glad I did see it!

This Is It shows the best of Michael Jackson, the performer, as he rehearses his planned final concerts. (As you probably know, Jackson passed away at age 50 before the concerts came to pass.) He wanted to perform the most requested songs for his fans, but he was also planning new special effects that would take his performance to a new level. The performances were spliced together with comments from choreographers, directors, back-up...

We brought our three kids ages 9, 7 and 5 to see this movie last weekend. I was a little nervous because I heard someone say on television that it was "sleazy". I honestly have no idea why someone said that. This movie showed the pure brilliance of Michael Jackson. I was so sad when I left. I felt awful for the people working with him, his family and especially for the man himself. He was such an incredible performer. This also gave me a different impression of him. Not only was he patient, but he was very much in control without sounding controlling. I truly wish the man knew how much everyone...
