I have had Psoriatic Arthritis since my teens though it was not diagnosed until many years later. I have taken Methotrexate for 6+ years now and wish I had known of it sooner. — Before starting this drug I could barely get up in the morning. My feet constantly ached and I couldn't stand up straight until after about 10 minutes of constan momement. My hands & fingers were just as bad, stiff & constantly aching. I was diagnosed with Lupus 5 years ago. The lupus attacks my joints just like having arthritis, but instead of stopping there my immune system goes on to attack my muscles, connective tissue, skin and organs. My doctor suggested I try this 2 or 3 years ago. But I was afraid because I new that it was a mild chemotherapy drug and I was afraid of the side effects. The only side effects I have had is a slight thinning of my hair and I used to get very tired about 2 hours after I took it, and had to take a nap.
