Mercury Mountaineer - 2002 Review

So the question came, "You actually go to shop at Whole Foods market, with your reusable bags for the good of the environment...in a Mercury Mountaineer?".

• The response came easily, "Of course!". "You see, we have the two of us and three kids, to start with. The three rows of seating can accommodate seven and still bring home the bacon. The second row seating provides 40/20/40 folding seats. That means two car seats can be on board and a seat still folds down for access to the third row. We can also keep everyone comfortable with the separate heating and cooling system for the rear".

Another question, "Aren't you concerned about green house gasses and global warming, not to mention gas prices?".

• The next response? Just as easy. "Of course we are concerned and we want our children to have a world to grow up in, but this Mercury Mountaineer is just for running errands and going to work. We put about 6,000 miles a year on it and that is less than a lot of people in economy vehicles. As for gas prices, we don't mind the larger tank and paying a little more than we need so that we can feel safer with our family. We love to sit higher up to view the road. We love the all wheel drive in winter icy conditions. We also feel safer having the children higher up in the event of a side impact collision."

Yet another question on our trip: "So, what else is included that makes the Mountaineer right for you? ".

• Easiest response yet, "This 2002 has an in dash 6 disk CD changer, stereo controls on the steering wheel, power seats for driver and passenger, heated seats, full size spare and more. Plus, the leather interior is super easy to clean after the kids have come and gone. I would highly recommend this vehicle for anyone looking for safety, comfort, and reliability. Now let's get some groceries for dinner!".
