Mercedes-Benz C-Class - 2008 Review Summary
Reviewers called the new 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class 4 door sedans “economical”, “comfortable” a “chick magnet”. They also found the V6 engine to provide a smooth ride. The sporty design with bucket seats in the front is particularly appealing to the younger crowd. One reviewer described the seats as “almost sitting on a cloud”. Even though the Mercedes-Benz 2008 new C-Class can be considered a “luxury” sedan, this Mercedes is affordable. But, beware, people report that like most cars, it doesn’t hold its value over the years. Overall, Viewpoints reviewers are happy with their Mercedes and like the low maintenance. However, when things do go wrong, repairs can be very pricey. Members advise to be diligent on routine maintenance.

On its debut, the C-Class was the only Mercedes model with a complete lineup of multivalve engines. The new family of four cylinder petrol units, called M111, debuted in the C 180 (1.8 L, 122 PS (120 hp/90 kW)), C 200 (2.0 L, 136 PS (134 hp/100 kW) and C 220…

Critical Review
I attended a Mercedes-Benz car event today and was able to drive three different cars, all 2008 C-Class models. Before my drive, I sat through a presentation where I was told that the car was amazingly special and the product of a seven-year design effort. That may be so, but it felt just like a…

The new Mercedes C-class is a looker.. there is no denying it. I got the second one in karachi, Pakistan. Turns heads wherever you go. Makes the older C-class look like a rip off. The model that I have custody of is a C200 Kompressor Avantgarde, and before I move on, buy the avantgarde package, that grill is worth it. Because everyday when its parked next to the Elegance model in the office, I thank myself for making the decision of buying the avantgarde, it changes the way you look at the car, the avantgarde in short would be something like Uma Thurman…

The W202 confirms the typical attention of the brand to active and passive safety. At the launch the C-Class had standard driver airbag, ABS and integrated side-impact protection; the front passenger airbag became standard from 1994 onwards, and from the same period Traction control (ETS in the 4-cylinder models, combined with limited slip differential (ASD) or ASR in the 6 cylinders models) was available as extra cost. In 1997 ASR became standard in the C 280s equipped with the automatic transmission and in the C 36 AMG, as ETS in the 4-cylinder models, except for the C 180 and the C 220…

As I said, with a Mercedes you just cannot go wrong! I've owned and own several mercedes. Currently I own an SL65 AMG, CL55 AMG, CLK55 AMG and a C230 (this one is for daily use and long commutes). I ONLY buy Mercedes but have owned a few BMW's but I much prefer Mercedes over any other automobile save for Ferarri, but a Ferarri is simply not practicle for daily use. Of all the Mercedes I own and have owned, the C class is certainly in the top 3. It's reliable, smooth, very low road noise, highly responsive, hugs the road (you can litarally take a sharp corner at 40 MPH and not even slide a bit…

M-B started testing on the new C-class quite a long time ago (in the summer of 2003), and for good reason. The outgoing C-class was never a real competitor to the BMW 3-series, being plagued with poor interior materials, a small stature, and disappointing engines. This new model has seen hundreds of thousands of test miles in Germany, Finland, Dubai, Namibia, and some other places, including the digital world. The 2008 C-class is the first car based on a completely virtual prototype, created with 2130 gigabytes of information. — The new C-class resembles a scaled-down (and tamer)…

After having driven my 2008 C-Class, I'm of mixed opinion. The car's transmission is excellent - very smooth drive, and very quiet. Handling, braking, and overall feel of the car is also excellent. Cruise control is easy to figure out and a joy to use. Bluetooth is great. —
What I don't like is the above-average, extensive use of plastics in a Mercedes-Benz. There is just too much plastic throughout the car. The instruments are placed well and look good, but it's ultimately unfortunate that all that vinyl and plastic takes away from the interior's appeal. —
I'm also not…

It's good thing that mercedes finally realized that most american's can't afford to buy a $50,000 Benz and they're loosing out the younger crowd to the BMW 3-series and Infinity G35's or Lexus IS 350's because the C-class's of the past seemed more like an expensive version of the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. People just won't buy it so they can say that they own a benz. However, Mercedes finally got it right with the economical line of C-class cars with this new C300, its flawless curves and exceptional acceleration will leave any man begging for more. I would have…

I just got a new 2008 C300 to replace my Lexus GS300. Talk about an upgrade! Its interesting - I paid more for my Lexus but never really loved the car. The montly paymetns were always a bit of a chore, but now I don't even mind or notice my car payment since I'm so crazy about my car. — Here are the highlights: — Talking GPS Navigation = a lifesiver! — IPOD Integration kit = awesome — Fast and efficient engine - you'll feel like you are driving a race car — Panoromic Sunroof = my friends kids list this as their favorite freature! …

Car handles like a dream, although the brakes are quite touchy. Will take some getting used to. The car accelerates quite nicely and doesnt hiccup when shifting. Power everything adds an incredible touch to an already incredible car. I particularly like the feel of the seats, almost like you are sitting on a cloud. For someone with back problems, such as myself, thats a big part of buying a car. Tons of lumbar…

I traded in a 2006 Mercedes C Class for the new 2008 to avoid running out of warrenty. Repairs aren't that common but break the bank. I find it a comfortable ride and like the cockpit feel to the driver's side. It is a bit stiff but I prefer a stiffer ride to a mushy boat-like…

The exterior doesn't move me, either. As the wheels get bigger, the windows get smaller.
A partial view of the interior. There are even more controls to the right. Note the knobby "race-inspired" pedals.
