Most HelpfulI tried this cat food because of its value, but I found that it wasn't worth it, even at such a low price. My cat ate this food for the first two days, then refused to touch it again. As a rule, my cat is not a picky eater and will eat most cat food brands. Another downside to Meow Mix is that the bag can't be resealed, meaning you'll need to store it in a separate container.
I spoke to my vet about possible cat food choices recently, and she told me that Meow Mix is basically like fast food for cats--ok every once in a while, but not good enough nutrition to be your cat's main food source....
review »My cats had trouble with their digestive systems. They would get fregent urinary tract infections. Everytime I tried to change their food they would start throwing up. It got to the point where they would barely eat anything, and what they did eat did not agree with them. I finally tried Meow Mix and life has been much better. I have tried several other top brand name cat foods and they only turn their noses up at them and follow me around the house meowing and begging for their good and trusty and obviously tasty Meow Mix Original Choice. They will sometimes eat Meow Mix Seafood Medley but they definitely prefer the original flavor. They are both "senior citizens" and I have had them both since they were 6 weeks old. They are both over seventeen years old now! When they were younger I can't really remember if I gave them Meow...
review »I became a cat lover about 14 years ago in my early thirties and so when it came to buying cat food for my precious GG, a wonderfully feminine black cat, I eventually turned to Meow Mix thanks to their longtime running cat commercials I had seen since my teens. Not only does GG love it but she won't touch anything else! And hasn't for most of these fourteen years.
Also, the stray cats who explore my yard love it, and so do the birds and their friends who swoop down on it. The squirrels show up and eat it, the possoms at night looking around for food come and munch it, and even our neighbor's...
