Melissa and Doug See and Spell Reviews

My son (almost 4) is very interested in reading, letters and spelling. He really wants to be able to read himself and spell.

A friend of mine bought my son the Melissa and Doug Deluxe Wooden See and Spell so I took it out and decided that we would have a reading/spelling lesson every day for about an hour. I am convinced I am going to teach him to read soon!! :)

I bought Melissa and Doug's See and Spell  dirt cheap on Amazon. I thought it would just be a so-so toy for our 3 year old. Nope! It's the one toy she has played with everyday since Christmas. She is very good at it. It is a great toy to play together, reinforces spelling and letters and even colors. There are 8 double-sided tiles with simple 3 or 4 letter words and pictures. The letters for the word are cut out like puzzle peices and then you find the letters from a large assortment and place them in the tile.

This is a high quality and educatioal toy that my son LOVES!  My sone recieved this for his third birthday. One of the things I love about this toy is that it uses lower case letters.  My sion mastered his uppercase letters at a young cage but this toy really helped him master those tricky lower case ones.  It is quality wood toys at their best.  My son had no difficulty manipulating the latters at 3 and my daughter, just 2 loves it too.  They also use the letters for others games and activities too, such as trying to slepp their own names or other words that are familiar.  It I had one complaint...
