I have always been a fan of Melissa and Doug toys/items and when I came across this one I thought that it was great! It is adorable and the bugs inside are super cute! They come with a bug jar that is very sturdy and holds up well. Everything in this set is colorful and I could see why kids would want to play with it. Each of the bugs does different things from crackling sounds to rattling. They are nice and soft and are good quality. The fabric feels great. I like that the lid of the bug jar comes off and on. They seem like they are sewn together really well and this is a toy that will last you for a long time. My niece plays with these a lot and likes to put the bugs in the jar and take them out again over and over. I was really glad to have found this. This would be really cute to give as a gift as well. A great buy at a pretty decent price. It's worth the money and the way these are made are great! They are so cute!

My daughter received this as a gift when she was about six months old. It was love at first sight and she continues to play with it a year and a half later. It is a soft jar with vinyl type sides that houses four different bugs (a spider, grasshopper, butterfly, and other bug). All of the bugs "do" different things, one has a bell, one squeaks, one is crinkly, etc...She thinks they are fun for the noises that they make and enjoys putting them in and out of the jar. They don't exactly "spill" out, that is a misnomer, you need to give them help to get them in and small hands can easily get them out...I guess if you shook it upside down hard enough they may eventually fall out but...They are very high quality, sturdy and the perfect size for little hands. She carries them around in and out of their jar. The colors are bright and the spider and grasshopper are especially cute. Soft and fuzzy, these have been a constant play thing.

The Bug Jug Fill & Spill by Melissa & Doug is one of the best toys around! I was a first time grandparent wanting only the best for my granddaughter and was told you can't go wrong with Melissa & Doug. The Bug Jug set includes the following: a safe bright green plastic jar, a green grasshopper that crackles and rattles, a purple spider that rattles, a multi-colored butterfly that crackles and rattles, and a multi-colored lady bug that squeaks and crackles. It is recommended for "ages 6 months and up". The bugs are made of a high quality, soft material and is "safe" for those who like to put everything in their mouths! They are washable and have been washed numerous times! I can assure you that this is a very durable set and is definately an investment to make.  I gave this set to my granddaughter at 5 months, but only the bugs. They were in her mouth a lot during the teething stages! She loved the bugs and didn't show an interest in the jug until 8 months. The jug is now used to hold her crayons. At 3 years old she is still fascinated with the Bug Jug set. This toy has such a great educational value! It helped her learn her colors! It taught her how to count as she put the bugs in and out of the jug! She knows all their names and plays in her sandbox with her bugs! As new babies are introduced into our families, they are also introduced to the "bugs"! This toy is so sturdy and safe I believe it could be around long enough for my granddaughter's children.

My son was given the Bug Jug when he was 6 months old. It is still in regular rotation almost a year later! He loves to put the bugs in and out. Each bug makes a different sound including rattling to crinkly wings. The jug is well made and my son likes to carry it around and put his blocks in it. The Bug Jug has also entertained my daughter, 3. She enjoyed taking the bugs in and out and helping her brother when he was first given the toy. She also just likes to pack around the bugs and she knows all their names and it has helped her identify bugs outside. This toy is sturdy enough that it will be passed on!
