Melaleuca MelaGel Topical Gel - Tube review

One of our household staples is Melaleuca Melagel Topical Gel Tube...an all-purpose first aid gel that comes in a 0.5 oz. tube from Melaleuca, an on-line company that markets natural and safe products that are environmentally responsible.  The gel contains Melaleuca (tee tree) oil, petroletum, beeswax, cocoa butter, wheat germ oil, d tocopheryl alcohol acetate (natural vitamin E), retinyl palmitate (Vitamin A), cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3), and corn oil.

What I like about it:  **As soon as you open the tube, you can smell the distinctive scent of tea tree oil.  The gel is clear and almost melts when it touches warm skin, so even for sensitive area that have been injured, it's easy to spread on the wound with minimal pressure, so you're less likely to have screams from kids that need their boo boo's fixed!  It doesn't burn or sting when applied to most injuries, unless you have a larger cut.  But anything is going to hurt then!   I'm a super huge fan of natural products, and this one is definitely on that list.  **Melaleuca Melagel Topical Gel Tube is the only first aid ointment in the world that contains oil from a specific species of the tea tree.  Each tree produces oils with different properties, and Melaleuca's research has shown that this tree (T36-C5) produces oils that are most effective to heal minor injuries.

**What I don't like about it:  **As with all Melaleuca products, I wish they were more widely available.  You have to purchse a Melaleuca membership to buy their items, like Sam's Club or Costco, and it would be helpful if they made their products available to people without charging a membership fee.  If you don't purchase the monthly points to get your reduced price, this gel is really pricy...$11.  It's only $7.47 if you do get the discounted rate, which is reasonable and comparable to first aid creams you can buy in the store that aren't even natural!
