Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag Review Summary

As an early building block system, reviewers agree the Mega Bloks 80 Piece Maxi Bag is “a great toy that never goes out of style.” What are these Mega Bloks Maxis? Mega Bloks Maxis are large toddler sized brick style building blocks (similar to Legos), which are “big and easy for little fingers to manipulate.” Moms over and over describe how great the Mega Bloks 80 Piece Maxi Bag set is for their budding builder. Though toddlers won't be able to build anything complicated, Mega Bloks encourage creativity as well as babies many different skills. From dexterity to colors, Mega Bloks teach while baby is having fun. Since the Mega Bloks connect loosely little ones are able to “put them together and take them apart easily” unlike Duplo blocks which have a tighter fit. And since Mega Bloks are so sturdy kids for many generations will be playing with them.

This last Christmas my five year old, who is six now, and my nine year old both asked for more Mega Bloks to add to their collection.  From what I understood, these types of blocks were for younger children but mine still wanted more.  Even my nephew who is ten and my niece who is six had Mega Bloks...

My daughter received Mega Bloks as a gift when she was still far too young to play with them. I had reservations about them because I expected my family to be Lego all the way, but am not one to turn down free items. As soon as she was old enough for building toys, my parents purchased a set of Duplos...

Our family had lots of fun with these blocks. we have had many kodak moments, of building structures. Many toddler sized castles aprox 2-3ft high, we also invested in mega blocks railroad towns availible for purchace.( not sure if the railroad is still avail.) over the years we 'in all" owened approx 10 bags for three children, and made some children very happy when we passed them on a few years back. My only bad thing I can say is if you purchase a bag that has the blocks with Tires ,I had to remove them(the tires that is until the children got older.)-Chokeing hazard for young children.

mega bloks 80 pc. bag is totally awesome; especially combined with mega bloks 50 pc. in a wagon. my daughter received the wagon as a gift on her third birthday. she loved playing with the bloks. only problem was the bloks were too less to build something. i saw 80 pc. bag at toysr'us and i knew i had to get it for her. she just loves the bloks; loves building the towers, castles, flower pots and what not. she is now six, but the bloks are still one of her favorite toys. the bloks are the only thing my six year old and seventeen months old kids love to play together. they always bring out the bloks...

I bought these years ago for my Own kids and then after they were grown gave them away as no longer needed . Well as nature would have it I am now a Grandmother to 5 toddlers and with the birth of my first went out and once again bought these building toys . Everyone of them has had hours of fun and when they outgrow them I am going to keep them for visiting children as my own Mother did . Never to old to learn from our Mothers.

I was so excited to find the bag of Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag at a consignment sale.  All the blocks were in the bag, including a couple of blok people and with the zippered bag for storage plus sale price it was a great deal and a toy that we looked forward to having lots of fun with.

The Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag contains 80 primary colored block that are similar in nature to Lego's.  There are also a couple of rings and block people to add to the variety.  The pieces come in different sizes from a one link block to larger sizes.  Each of them are square or rectangular shapes depending...

Mega Blocks

My son received several large packages of Mega Blocks for Christmas. He is only two and they are for 3 and up but he has a great time playing with them and has been able to figure out how they work. Mostly he enjoys when we put them together for him and he gets to take them apart so they could easily be used by a younger child. Just be sure to supervise a younger child because there are a few pieces that are small enough to fit inside their mouth and act as a choking hazard.

The blocks resemble large Lego’s. The sets he received had additional pieces that were not just...

I bought the mega blocks as gift for my son when he was only  6mo. old. I know that seems a little young. So  why you  wonder, well I heard something about kids learning from building blocks. I really don't remember the details, but I know the exsperts say it helps them learn better in alot of ways. But come on, what kid hasn't played with building blocks as a kid. There colorful, make fun for hrs. and kids learn to build diffrent thing. My son just loves them. To this day still plays with them. He's three.  I'll even join in the fun. My son and I will build towers,...

The Mega Blocks 80 piece maxi bag is wonderful to have for your children, your child's friends, and it is also great for those special grandchildren. The mega blocks will keep your children busy uses thier little minds on what they can build with thier mega blocks. They can also learn some of thier colors with the mega blocks. And the mega blocks are very safe for children. There is so many things that your child can build with the mega blocks. And you as a parent would even have fun playing with the mega blocks.  This toy is great because there is so much left to the imagination. That is very important to a growing child. Many of the toys today do not have that quallity anymore.  These toys are fun, also because of the bright colors, it will keep the child interested. They are able to stack any old way or be creative and create patterns because of the many different colors and shapes. We have so much fun trying to build castles, using certain patterns. There are many different sizes and shapes of the bloks, so that you are able to form different  buildings, forts, castles or anything you can think... review »

I am a nanny caring for two babies. The one year old had started stacking items and learning her colors, etc. I purchased the Mega blocks for her and she loves stacking them together, she is learning her colors, learning to put together and take apart, and will spend over an hour playing with them. they are easy to attach and take apart which is necessary for preschoolers while learning their dexterity.

They are safe and they don't hurt if you step on them (LOL) like the tiny ones do. I like how there are a variety of packages you can purchase. You can add on to your collection with different characters....

My nephew plays with these building blocks ALL the time. They are so easy for him to put together and make something out of. He loves them. although he really loves throwing them which really hurts if he's throwing them at someone. There is a varity of colors so he learns his colors well with these blocks. I believe it is very important for toddlers to learn how objects connect , counting blocks and distinguising colors. These blocks are large and there is a good amount of each color, enough to build a good size toy building. I think any child can play with these blocks since they are to big to...

Mega Blocks are a great toy for my 3 boys.  They are durable and provide hours of imagination for them.  They are big and easy for them to handle, plus they take up more space, so they don't need hundreds of blocks for building.  I like that all ages can play with them and you don't have to worry about the baby swollowing or chocking on them.  Hands down winner for our family.  I like that they come in primary and pastel colors, as well as different types of play sets.  We have the bag of blocks, the dump truck of blocks, the boat, and the wagon.  We also have several of the Mega Blocks... review »

My son is now almost three.  He's had the Mega Blocks for a year, since last Christmas.  He really loves them, at the stack and sort stage.

I find there aren't really enough in one pack to really do much more than stack.  So this is great for him now but I can see problems later.  I can't really make to many "things" with the amount of blocks included.

There was also a dispropotionate amount of one color and the single block type of mega block.  I think I'll add more to his collection each year, but for now he seems happy to just stack and sort.

Excellent set of building blocks. I have two boys who are tough on toys, and these hold up to the test! The ideas are endless: trucks, aircraft, cities - you name it, the kids can build it. I've never had a problem with these blocks breaking, even when they're walked on or swept up in the vacuum. They always hold tight and the colors last through the dishwasher. Easy to store in a plastic bin. The set can always be added to - additional blocks make a great gift. Easy to find in all stores, and the cost for a set is very reasonable.
