Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag Review

I was so excited to find the bag of Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag at a consignment sale.  All the blocks were in the bag, including a couple of blok people and with the zippered bag for storage plus sale price it was a great deal and a toy that we looked forward to having lots of fun with.  

The Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag contains 80 primary colored block that are similar in nature to Lego's.  There are also a couple of rings and block people to add to the variety.  The pieces come in different sizes from a one link block to larger sizes.  Each of them are square or rectangular shapes depending on the number of "links" to each block. 

I was disappointed with the Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag.  The children- not even during a playdate when there are more children in my house than my two young ones- are even remotely interested in the Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag set.  I set the bag out thinking the children will be interested in building and only on the rare occasion does the bag even get opened.  My daughters will play with it if I open it up and sit down with them to build, but we can only build on a solid surface so it means that a table somewhere in the house has to be available for block building.  The blocks don't fit tightly together like Legos and since they easily become loose the buildings my children do make fall down all the time creating frustration instead of fun. 

They are great for stacking and sorting. Children can learn basic patterning skills but as far as building they are a disappointment. There are a lot more toys in my household that my children enjoy playing with than the Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag.
