Medela Swing Electric Breast Pump —

Boy, what CAN'T be said about the Medela Swing? I have owned several brands and types of pums over the years, and this one is BY FAR the best one I have ever had! For my older set of children, I mainly used a maual pump and finally got a battery operated one with the 14 yr old(third child). It was not until I had my 2 yr old that I was introduced to the electric pumps. With him,after trying several lesser expensive pumps, I settled Medela Double Select (now discontinued), which worked fine. I had to get another pump because the one I had was losing suction. I really wanted to stay with Medela but I really couldn't afford the In-Style, and really didn't want the"Single". I did my research, and I thought, going by past experience, that the Swing would be the best value for my needs. I only work part time, so I only need to pump a ew bottles a week, and the best way I have found to do that is by feeding on one side and pumping on the other when I get home from work. The Swing accommodates this method for me wonderfully, and I can get 4oz in under 10 minutes!!! This pump is most definitely a good fit for someone who works outside the home a few part-time shifts a week. I wouldn't have chosen this one if I was working full time, though, because for pumping at work to work for me, I would have to have a double pump, so I would definitely encourage someone who works full time and/or is only interested in pumping both breasts at once to invest in the In-Style. For single pump moms, though, this is the one for you!!!
