The Medela Pump in Style was recommended to me by the Le Leche League meeting I went to while pregnant. They asked if i would be returning to work, and when I said "yes", they almost all unanimously said that this is a product that I would need.
I had previously registered for what I assume is a mid-grade breast pump. It was not a hand pump, but it was not as nice or expensive as the Pump in Style. So I went back and changed the registry.
I am lucky enough to be able to bring my daughter to work, so I actually don't use this product all that much. If I was working full-time, and didn't have my daughter with me, however, it would be a must-have accessory. It does pump relatively quickly, at least from what I've heard comparing it to other pumps.
The only downsides I can think of about this pump is that it's a little challenging to hold both pumps at one time, and adjust the settings. I can't really lean back on the couch and pump, I have to sit up pretty straight else milk will leak. That could be the case with all pumps though, I'm not sure. Oh, and the carrying case it comes in could use a little extra room. It also takes a little "figuring out" when you first open up the box. Don't wait until you're engorged when your milk comes in to read the instructions!
It probably wasn't worth the money for me since I'm not using it that often, but it's definitely a nice pump.
