The medella pump in style is a briefcase appearing double electric pump with options for a battery/car adaptor. It's compact, discreet and convienient. It doesn't scream to the world "breast pump". The double or single pumping bottles work well with auto cycling and hands free use when combined with medela's nursing bra. (The bra cup opens from 3:00 to 9:00 rather than drop down flaps so the pump horns can be inserted and pumping can happen hands free!)
This pump is a bit pricy, I paid $170 BUT it is so much faster and more effective and kept up my milk supply once back to work full time unlike the cheepie battery model that came as a shower gift. This pump is primo! It's very comfortable. I was even able to pump in the car, with the sun shield up in the windshield, and have my lunch while reading a book! it really made my lunch hour FEEL like a break!
The "briefcase" has the pump molded in, lots of storage for the cord and bottle/tubing/horns and has a cooler insulated side to keep your "liquid gold". There is space for at least 6 6 ounce bottles in the cooler side. There is a little pocket too for baby's photo which is a visual trigger for let down.
I figure that the $1600+++ I'd spend on formula for a year is a great start to our daughters college fund plus breastfeeding will boost her IQ to get in to the best schools! :>)
You can't go wrong with this pump if you are serious about maintaining a milk supply and working full time!
