Most HelpfulAs a new mommy that planned to breastfeed but also had to go back to work full time, I knew I had to invest in a decent breast pump. I did a lot of research and it seemed that I had to choose between two highly reviewed pumps. I decided on the Medela Pump In Style due to the fact that it was more...

This pump works great! I like the discreet case. I know it's a pump, but my co-workers dont. It holds all the supplies necessary. I have all I need to pump during the day. It's nice I can have it all accessible and ready to go! I am trying to get my routine down with this pumping. It's nice to...
The Medela Advance Personal Double Electric Breast Pump has been a complete life-saver for me! No, really, I don't think I would ever buy another breast pump. Unable to use the hospital's cushy high-grade electric pump once I was discharged, I was forced into using a dinky manual breast pump that simply did not do the job and left my nipples sore. This was a huge shock... and a painful one at that. I put an order in right away for the Medela.
When I got this pump, I was surprised by all of the extra features that it has. For example, it comes with four storage bottles, two sizes of nipple-guards,...
review »I used this pump 100% of the time for 18 months. (My baby never went to the breast with any success.) The technology in this pump is amazing!!
The controls are dials with a "memory" function, so that the strength of the pump is the same when you turn it on the next time. The pump starts out for 2 minutes on a "quick" suck function just like a baby - to stimulate a let down reflex as the baby would. It will automatically switch to a long "draw" suction after two minutes, or you can manually change it after you let down.
It is a double pump system so that you can quickly empty both breasts...
review »My overall take
The Medela Breast Pump is a must have for any working mom that is breastfeeding or any mom that wants to escape the shackles of breastfeeding. If you are using a hand pump, retire it. This is a million times better and worth every penny. You are time-starved, right?
What I like
It is easy to use and comes with everything that you need. It also all fits very nicely in the very dicreet backpack! Nobody other than other breastfeeding mothers know what is really going on in there!
You can pump and save. I recommend that you use the freezer bags. It also affords your husband and others...
review »This breastpump is definately a must have for any breastfeeding mom. I love this because even when I was not able to be with my baby, the pump worked just as well. It allowedme to go out with my husband, have a babysitter, and to go back to work without worrying about my supply going down. It is a double electric one so I was able to pump both sides at the same time and in less time. I pumped 10 minutes and got about as much as if I were nursing. It is a great product. It comes in a backpack style case so it is discreet and doesn't make a lot of noise. I would definately recommend this product...
review »Let me start by saying the Medela Pump In Style Advanced Backpack is the best breast pump ever!
Being the first of all my friends to have a baby, I didn't have much help in this department. So I bought 3 other breast pumps before buying this one and it is worth every penny. After trying the other ones (one which caused alot of pain) then trying this one, I didn't know how I could have kept breast feeding with the other ones. I worked and attended school, so I needed something that was versitile. It comes with a cooler pack and a battery pack, so you can use it on the go, not just in an office.
I really love the Medela pump-in-style advanced breast pump in a backpack. I have used it through three babies while working part-time, usually pumping once every four hours. I have never used it with the battery pack, but plugged in it works really well, and is plenty powerful. It usually takes me ten to fifteen minutes to pump myself empty. It doesn't work as well as a hospital-grade pump, of course, but it works great for pumping at work or on the go. I have one friend that used it as the sole means of feeding her baby because he wouldn't nurse and she used to use it in the car, while her...
review »My first child was born three years ago, and had a very hard time adjusting to breastfeeding. So when I knew my second was ready to be born, I made sure to be ready with a breast pump. The Pump in Style that I had used three years ago had seen better days, so I bought the new Pump In Style Advanced for the new baby. As expected, she had a few problems at birth and was severely jaundiced. We found ourselves in the pediatric unit for her bilirubin treatments, and I brought along the pump. The backpack made it so easy when trying to handle the baby and the pump (not to mention my own bag for the overnight...
review »I love this breast pump. It works very well, the bottles are also BPA free so they are safe for my son to drink out of and safe for me to reuse again and again. He wasn't so into the nipples at first, but he got used to them quickly. The parts are easy to take apart and put back together again, it's easy to clean and the pump comes out of the backpack easy for traveling. I was able to not take the whole backpack and fly out of state with it to my parent's house. It fit nicely in my suitcase.
Great breast pump, bottles, etc. Great for the value.
The Medela pumps are so high quality. Very durable construction, easy to clean accessories, and it comes in a very discreet and stylish bag/backpack with all the room you need for storage.
It has a cycle that stimulates let down before the main pumping cycle. Both "cycles" have adjustable suction. Also comes with the ac adapter to plug into a wall and battery pack, with the option to hook up a car adapter.
We have a Mother's Room where I work with a few curtained areas that allow breastfeeding mothers to pump. You can tell when someone has a Medela pump by the soothing noise it makes. Haha...but...
review »I prefer to breastfeed my babies, so when I found out I was pregnant with Jack, I knew I would need to purchase a pump. I borrowed one when I had Lauren and had since returned it. Fortunately, my husband had a great benefit at work to receive a Medela breast pump for a copay of $125. I immediately ordered!
What comes in the Backpack:
*Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump with 2 Phase Expression pumping in a stylish black microfiber bag: The bag has a handle at the top (between the shoulder straps) for easy one handed carrying as well as the backpack straps that are comfortable and wide. Each zipper...
My mom and I purchased this for my sister when she had her first child. She only used it for 2 or 3 months and then passed it on to me when I was expecting my third child.
I've breast fed all of my kids, and I had a Medela pump before. I've been fortunate enough to take a long maternity leave so I only use this pump at night before I go to bed. Since my son is sleeping through the night now, I need to make sure I pump before bed or I wake up leaking everywhere. (yuck!)
Medela makes great pumps, worth every cent. I haven't actually ever worn this as a backpack, and if I had purchased this originally...
