I really love the Medela pump-in-style advanced breast pump in a backpack. I have used it through three babies while working part-time, usually pumping once every four hours. I have never used it with the battery pack, but plugged in it works really well, and is plenty powerful. It usually takes me ten to fifteen minutes to pump myself empty. It doesn't work as well as a hospital-grade pump, of course, but it works great for pumping at work or on the go. I have one friend that used it as the sole means of feeding her baby because he wouldn't nurse and she used to use it in the car, while her husband was driving. Another great thing has been that the pump parts that they give you at the hospital to use with their pumps fit on it. You can buy attachments to keep it hands-free, but I usually manage to work it hands-free without that stuff. The only problem I've had with it is the power cord has worn and split a little at the connector to the plug. It also feels a little immodest at times -- no way to not feek exposed.
