Well, not really one size fits all

2

About eight years ago I had my dentist make a bite guard because I was grinding my teeth at night. I was very happy with it, but I noticed recently that I was starting to grind holes into the very hard plastic. I asked a friend who is a dentist what she thought of the night guards you could buy over the counter and she said that while they aren't as good as the ones she makes, they do the trick and since I'm on a tight budget these days, it was definitely something I should consider. So I went and bought the Doctor's Night Guard and went through the process of molding it to my teeth. I climbed into bed with it in my mouth and a few minutes later, I had to take it out. I just couldn't do it because my mouth was way too small. Sure, it says one size fits all, but apparently it's not made for small mouths. So if you have a small mouth, don't buy this because you'll end up having to take it out and will be left with some very sore jaw muscles!

My jaw really hurts after sleeping with this product

The night guard made a good tight fit for my teeth however it was too think and I couldn't close my mouth comfortably so unfortunately I slept with my mouth open. The part of the guard that oozed up on top of the roof of my mouth was too thick too so it pushed my tongue to the back of my mouth making snore all night. I woke up with a sour throat and sore jaw. I think the thickness of the guard made me bite down even more than without using it.

The Doctor's Night Guard will keep you from grinding

When I found out I had a teeth grinding problem, this was the first product I used.  I have been using it for about 3 years now, and they have changed the design at least twice.  It used to come in different sizes and now it is a one size fits all.  I do not see this as a problem because if it is too long for someone, the end can be trimmed.  Some people may have difficulty properly fitting the nightguard, but the company guarantees a good fit or they will send you another one.  I have not found this to be a problem.  I find the nightguard very comfortable, which is another benefit to it.  I forget that it is in my mouth.  This is another change in design that the company has made.  It used to be thinker, but they have slimmed it down without compromising on the quality of the materials.  One time, I tried a different brand of nightguard because my store stopped carying the Doctor's Nightguard.  That was a huge mistake!  The competator product did not last as long and basically came apart.  After that, I make sure that I buy the Doctor's Nightguard every time.  They usually last about 6-8 months for me.  I know this nightguard is more expensive than some of the others on the market, but it's worth it.
