I have suffered from clenching my teeth at night for years and I have crowns on my back teeth to show for it. My dentist suggested I get a professionally fitted night guard to the tune of 300.00. I have had professional made night guards in the past and found them to be rigid and uncomfortable. Not wanting a ridged plastic guard or to spend that kind of money, I researched and compared night guards that can be purchased from a retail store. I decided on The Doctor's: Advanced Comfort Night Guard which can be purchased from Walmart for around 20.00 ( I found they have the best prices as other national drug stores were selling these for almost 10.00 more).

The first thing I noticed was that the guard was soft...no rigid plastic. You do have to boil and fit the guard to your teeth...the directions are easy to follow and timing the placement with a stopwatch is a necessity. Again, follow the directions exactly..don't think you know what to do.

Upon going to sleep the first night, I put the guard in and felt immediate relief. It was not uncomfortable and I could close my lips around the guard...(if you can't close your mouth, you have fitted it wrong).

The best part--when I woke up I felt great! No headaches, irritability or jaw soreness. YIPPEEE! I wish I had bought this sooner. I really do. For the price, I will stick with this guard. It is so comfortable I may use it during the day if I feel stressed and find myself clenching.

Just a few points upon reading other reviews of the The Doctor's: Advanced Comfort Night Guard:

If the guard falls out at night, you didn't fit it correctly...it should stay on your top teeth when you fully open your mouth.

If you can't close your lips around the guard, you didn't fit it correctly.

Read the instructions a few times before beginning...there is a 1800 number if you need help.

Use a stop watch to time the boiling and fitting times. Most cell phones have a stop watch function.

If you are suffering with clenching your teeth at night, don't hesitate to use a night guard...you will thank yourself for it in the morning.

Wow. I dont think I have ever read such a rude comment (instead of an actual review) about a personal opinion, "trueword". I am still using this guard and still love it. I am sorry it didn't work for you and that you are angry about it. I, on the other hand, am joyous that this item has eliminated my sore jaw in the morning. What works for some doesn't always work for other people. I hope you can get some relief as I did.

I'm sorry, I actually used this product and have no idea how anyone else who has used this product could write a review like this. The guard is a hunk of thick plastic I could bowl with. My jaw actually hurt more trying to mold it to my teeth (despite boiling) than with before using it. I have never been so disappointed in a product before despite not having any grand expectations and am quite appalled by your review to be honest. Just wanted to write this so anyone who reads your review or searches for a review on this product knows the truth about said product. Seriously unbelievable...
