Most HelpfulMy daughter went to private school with good experiences until she went to McKinney Christian Academy. The children were extraordinarily mean and clique-ish, and the faculty turned their heads to bullying, even though they claimed to be Christians of the highest caliber. Also, many of the teachers and...
review »We have found MCA to be an outstanding environment for our daughter. Class sizes are small. She receives alot of attention and is surrounded by staff who love her. One of her teachers attended my daughter's baptism and gave her a new bible.
Our daughter receives a rigorous education. In national testing, she scored in the top 1% in many academic areas.
She has alot of friends. When birthday or other parties are held, everyone in her class is invited. They attend many of the school's sporting and fine arts events together and my daughter has grown socially.
I would recommend MCA to anyone...
review »I have been attending MCA for five years and have found it to be a major stuggle at times. I came from a public school where I was sexually harassed, both verball and physically. Obviously, those aren't things you would find at MCA. When I went to public school, my kinder through sixth grade year, I had plenty of friends and was strong in my witness for Christ. Then I hit the fifth grade. After changing schools, i had little friends and lots of problems. My sixth grade year was even worse, as was the abuse. I chose to switch to MCA after completing my sixth grade year in a public school. There...
review »We (my husband, daughter and I) toured MCA last year, looking for a private school for our daughter. We did not like the "vibe" and our daughter did not like the feeling she got from the school one bit. We decided to put her elsewhere. Since then, we've talked to many parents who either had the good foresight not to enroll their children in this school, or who pulled their child out after just one year. One couple (a good Christian family) we talked to who were not impressed with the school and likened it "The Borg" from the Star Trek series. Although this comparison is humorous, it does raise...
review »Overall attitude of the instructors and staff at this school is elititist. College prep is one thing, better then anyone else is another! This school is as far from having a Christian attitude as possible. We thought we did our research...we should have done more! Children with any type of individuality or learning differences are not welcome and will quickly be made to feel that way. Instructors need to look deep inside themselves to determine if they should be working with children and parents. "First do no harm"
I love this school! My child absolutely loves MCA. The people are so nice and the christian education is awesome! The teachers are very nice and love being around their students! They always have a smile on their face! They give to the community by having a community outreach day once a quarter and a week long mission trip in the spring! The sports coaches are very encouraging towards their athletes. The principal is extremely nice! My childs experience at MCA will never be forgotten!
