Maytag refrigerater Review

I have the Maytag plus stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with door ice dispenser.  Thought I was going to love it, but after only 6 years it is rapidly disintegrating.  My parents GE refrigerator lasted 20+ years, maybe even 30.  This one has had the ice maker hose explode, spraying water all over the inside of the freezer where it promptly froze.  That was a pain to scrape off of everything; entire freezer had to be unthawed.  Three weeks ago had a recall on it; relay put in over fears of overheating. No evidence of overheating on my unit.

Since then the ice dispenser broke AND the refrigerator side failed completely, possibly on the same day.  Lost all refrigerated food.  :  (  Needed a circuit or relay or something replaced.  It's now two weeks later and again tonight (Sunday, of course), the refrigerator is again 62 degrees F!!!   All food is again history.  It will agin take  3-4 days to get a repairman.  Ice dispenser continues to be broken (latch has broken off the little insulated door that lets the ice out).  Factory-authorized repairman took 3 days to get here, then doesn't bring any parts.  Those must be sent by UPS and THEN they will schedule the repair. 'Course they bill you for at least half of it up-front.  And both times you get to take a half-day off of work to sit and wait for them!  Perhaps the icemaker part will arrive this week before I have to travel to Canada for work.  Meantime he told me to jam a towel into it as a way to avoid frost build-up from the warm air leaking into the refrigerator.  If I could kick this thing to the curb it'd be gone. (don't know why type got so big)

PS - The black plastic things over the feet fall off all the time. And the stainless is VERY difficult to clean off waterspots.
