Maytag Jetclean Dishwasher-EQ plus Review

I am thrilled at getting the opportunity to review this dishwasher.  The model I purchased cost approximately $700.00 right after the warranty was up it began not working.  It would pump the water in, heat it and then stop.  We called a maytag and they sent out a man who said that the main pump was out and it would cost $450.00 to fix.  We had already paid the man $50.00 just to look at the thing.  We knew that it could not be the main pump because it would pump the water in and out - it just wouldn't go into wash cycle.

We took the thing apart down to the motor and cleaned it and put it back together.  It worked fine.  We called the Maytag company and they reimbursed us for the money we had spent and gave us a 1 yr warranty for the machine.  Seems like a perfect thing to do huh?  Well it continued on for several months and then just about the time that the year warranty was up it began to do the same thing and then when we took it apart, although we would find nothing that would cause this issue- it would start working again.  Maytag would not extend the warranty even though it was still doing the same thing it did in the beginning.  We knew nothing else but to keep dismantling it and putting it back together for a while, but now we have discovered that it is not the taking apart that fixes it.  It has a problem somewhere in the door latch or the float mechanism.  Now we open and close it and fiddle with the float.  We have no idea which one is the problem but after several times of doing this it just works like it is supposed to.  I will not buy another Maytag for the reason that the machine should not have messed up like this in the first place and for the repairman to just attempt to either gouge me or wasn't adept at analyzing the problem is just unacceptable.
