Most HelpfulAfter doing much research to find an energy efficient quality washing machine, I bought a Maytag Epic Z model MHWZ600TW in late November, 2007. By the summer of 2008 I began noticing noises during the spin cycle. By fall 2008 I realized my machine had a problem and was going to need repairs. I also realized my warranty was about to expire and so purchased the extended warranty (which I never do). I first requested service on 12/19/2008 and a repair person came to my house and removed my washing machine on 12/26/2008. Shortly after picking up my machine the repair person called to let...

This is my third Neptune, and replaced the second one, a Maytag-branded Samsung machine that caught fire. It does OK, but now that Whirlpool owns Maytag, they need to do some work on the computer logic that controls the machine. Many times, it just won't spin because it can't get the load balanced. It just gives up and leaves the clothes sopping wet. The logic in my original US-built Maytag Neptune was flawless, and would just keep trying until it got the clothes spun out. I wish I had not left that machine behind when I moved.
It also takes MUCH longer to do a load and the clothes don't come...

This is a good machine, i noticed a difference when i finished my first load of clothes. My old washer just didnt get the job done and when i got this new machine i was Very impressed with the upgrade that i had made. i absolutly love maytag products anyway, and this made me love it even more.
Our dryer went last year. We decided to get a new washer and dryer set. I have always owned the top loading washers. My husband told me we should go with the front loading machine. I wasn't sure how I would like it. The salesman at the store showed us the Maytag Epic Z set that was on sale. It was still a little more then I wanted to spend. He said it was Energy Star and would save me money that way. It was a little getting used to having to bend down but, I loved the front loader better then any other washer I have owned. It has a larger capacity so I can put more clothes in it. It has quite...

Since installation 4 service calls have been made on my Maytag Epic z washer. I love the cleaning. But the vibration (it is on the high pedestals) is horrible. The next step (after tightening the leg nuts up against the washer) and putting pads under the front feet to keep it from walking is to replace the shocks. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm worried I chose the wrong washer even though Consumer Reports rated it "low vibration". The shocks are supposed to be here on Monday. Hope this is the ticket to get it to stop shaking the whole house. Customer service has been timely...

I love my Maytag Epic Z front loading washing machine.
It's great to be able to wash large loads and comforters. My only complaint is the noise and movement during the spin cycles. It is balanced according to the person that installed it, but it is very noisy and moves 3 to 4 feet during the spin cycle.

I have had nothing but problems with the Epic Z 600TW - it leaks, it's already failed 2x and we are on our 2nd unit in 12months. I will never buy from them again

I always like the Maytag commercials that remind us that their washing machines never need a repairman, and to my surprise, it's true... REALLY! Even though this is the only front-load washer i have ever owned, i have little to complain about, literally. Hopefully it'll run on & on & on:)
