Until July of 2006, I always lived in an apartment, and used a laundromat to get my clothes washed. It was during that time that I noticed that the most reliable washing machines were Maytags, and that more laudromats had Maytags than any other brand of washer. I resolved that, if I ever got my own house, I'd get my own Maytag.
It was just under three years ago that my husband and I made the dream of home ownership come true, and it was only ten days after moving in that we got around to buying a washer and dryer for ourselves. I began by browsing the Maytag website, knowing I wanted a top-loading washer with a large capacity, and one that was powered by electricity. The Atlantis was the one I liked best, and it came with a matching electric dryer. The website found us the nearest Maytag store, and we lost no time getting down there to see the machines and make our purchase. Delivery and installation was really fast, I think the next day. The delivery people were most competent, careful, courteous, and quick. We were washing clothes in no time.
I know it's only been less than three years, but so far we've had no problems at all. The Atlantis is a very powerful machine, and for most laundry I set it on Medium because that's all it takes to get everything clean. It runs perfectly, and what with Maytag's reputation, I expect it to keep working perfectly for a good long time to come. There are less expensive brands on the market, but I consider a Maytag well worth the cost, since it should last for many years.
