I bought the Maytag Quiet Series 300. It is not as quiet as I would like compared to the one I had to replace. I have to close my private bathroom door so I do not hear the machine running in my bedroom.
I do like the amount of space it allows for the dishes & the design to fit large items in it however, I feel it doesn't clean as effectively as it should. In order for me to get a clean wash, I have to put it on a heavy load. I have to inspect each item to be sure they were cleaned & often have to wash some by hand.
When I purchased the machine from a local merchant, it was brought in by a company to be installed professionally. It took 4 delivery attempts before I got a machine that was not dinged & dented & one that actually worked. That took about 2 months. After about a year, the machine malfunctioned. You would think that with Maytags reputation, it would last longer than the warranty.!! Maybe I just got another lemon...who knows.
I had called the repair company to make sure which warranty was in effect (manufactureres or the extended because of the delay in the delivery of 2 months);& after having the company tell me I still fell under the manufacturers warranty they set me up with the repairman. The repairman came & wanted me to pay a few hundred dollars & it was supposed to be covered according to the maytag personnel who set up the appt..
. After many phone calls to the company & the place of purchase it took another couple of months before they actually got the repairs done.
It has been a nightmare owning this Maytag. I will certainly look elsewhere & next time consult a friend who is a retired appliance repairman & see what he would reccommend.
