Purchased this machine from Lowe's as a clearance. It did have nice features and it worked great for the first year. The brackets for the folding rack broke and pieces got logded down in the washing unit. It was an experience to get the pieces out and then the Maytag customer service was definately less than good. The first customer service rep was not very enthusiastc and reluctantly helpful, but we did find a replacement part.
After ordering it, I shopped around and found the same part much cheaper. The bad thing is the part was not complete the attachment bracket for the folding tines was not there which is what actually broke. Called the Maytag support again and the rep had to go to an outside website to even find the part. He did send me a part for free but I had already spent $30 bucks on a new set of folding tines when the replacement part/folding tine bracket was $4.95.
I also informed the reps that their part diagrams/listings were not accurate because of what they shipped me. I even let the third party company know that what they shipped was missing a part ( cancelled the Maytag order). The company had to have all of that part removed from it's warehouse. The company apparently called Maytag and complained. Hopefully Maytag's customer serice staff was more responsive to it's vendor's reps than its staff was to me. It seemed as if I was an inconvenience to Maytag and not a customer.
The machine did the crappie at 18 months, the lights won't even come on after about a month of sounding like a tornado... we are not even going to try and fix it if that says anything. So, we are off today to buy a new one. ARGHHHHH, more and more products are cheaply made and have poor service. No company bats 100% on everything all the time. GOOD customer support can overcome a bad product. TAKE HEED MAYTAG!!!'
