Never again!

I will NEVER own another one of these machines! Junk, junk, junk! Don't waste your money. I've owned the matching washer and dryer series 3000 for 5 years and it's been nothing but trouble.

If you see this appliance - RUN.....the other way.

Hands down...this is the worst appliance I have even owned. So far, only the door hinge is broken, and I refuse to spend one dime repairing it. It doesn't clean, it wastes time as it washes (and I use that term loosely). The timer is W A Y off. If you drop an sock and go to put it in, all the water AND YOUR SOAP, go down the drain, before the door will open. The door must remain ajar when not it use, because the odor will knock you over, if no air can get in. I could go on and on. I would give it away but I don't want another unfortunate person to be saddled with it.

Disgusted. Wasted money.

My Maytag 3000 is only a few years old. It sounds like it is going to come apart during the spin cycle. We definitely will be looking for a different brand next time and I would not recommend this machine to my friends. They sure don't make appliances that last anymore.

wonderful, with a slight drawback

4

I purchased the Maytag washer about six months ago. From day one, I have noticed that it cleans clothes better than any other washer I have had. However, the one drawback is that the washer "rocks" when it really gets going in the spin cycle. It has "walked" about three inches in front of the dryer, and I continually have to push it back. I do enjoy the steam cycle however, and have found that it does a great job getting rid of not only stains, but also odors. Most cycles take on average about 45-60 minutes to complete. The washer was comparitively priced to other washers with similar abilities and characteristics. Be sure to check for any rebates, as they are often out there. Also, be sure to only use HE detergent with this washer, as normal detergent will hurt the washer itself. In addition, this washer was super easy to install. would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a good washer.

Maytag Junk

1

11 Months after we bought it the front rubber boot seal broke and lets spill out on the floor. Not good for second story operation, thank God for the drip pan. Now 11 months after the Maytag Man repaired it it's broke again. Theres a commercial for Maytag about the service guys not getting any work because there product is so good. Double BS I'm going back to the old style washer that ole thing they say is so inefficient gave us YEARS of no hassle service.

circuit interface broken after less that 24 months!

1

After less than 24 months, my washer needs a new interface or other circuit board. It showed a f70 code and then stopped working. The door locked and could not be opened. After asking Maytag Customer Service how I could open the door to get my wet laundry out, they replied : "Due to our lack of technical training, we are unable to determine what the problem may be". I really think that they should give their CUSTOMER SERVICE people a little training. It can't be that difficult to tell someone where the emergency door release is located at. The service tech tells me that he can't tell which circuit board has gone bad, so we have to replace them one by one until it works again. It is going to cost about 1/2 of what I paid for the washer to start with. I will never buy a Maytag again. I really think that a washer, that costs as much as these washers do, should last longer than 24 months!

Stinky clothes

2

I was so excited when I got this because it used so much less water and I didnt have to worry about blankets being caught in an agitator like my old top loader and I could use the sanitary cycle if one of my kids wet the bed....at first everything seemed great everything spun out so nicely and I loved that it would tell you how much time was remaining in the cycle-but within a few months urine odors began to build up on the kids sheets and blankets-maybe the germs were killed but the smell was awful- Ive had this washer for almost 3 years and I wish I had never gotten it- it uses so little water nothing gets rinsed with enough water- Whats the point of using less water if you have to wash something 3 to 4 times to get any odors 100% out? Plus all the time it wastes....last night my son had an 'accident' and it took 5hrs to get his blanket clean and its half the size of a twin blanket! I have to quickwash it twice in a row then run the heavy duty cycle with extra soak time, extra rinse, heavy soil level setting just to have the urine smell rinsed out of it- I tried just rinse & spin but when i take the blanket out after running that setting half of it is completely dry still- I had service guy out soon after i got it because of this but apparantly nothing is wrong w/it-it just doesnt use enough water!!! Same problem with dogs pet bedding and my husbands work clothes( he works outside)-he switched to wearing all white shirts because his colored shirt were all getting worn out because had to wash them so much just to get the BO smell out...and yes i clean the washer reguarly... For lightly soiled loads it works ok but im constantly having to wash heavily soiled items 2 to 4 times in a row just to get stains or odors out-- if you very 'clean' things to wash this could be a good washer but with pets & kids & an outside job this washer STINKS!

Probably my last Maytag purchase

1

We purchased the Maytag 3000 series washer and dryer to replace an old top loading Maytag that had given us great service for years. Having used the new one for almost a year, I wish I had spent the money to fix the old one. The power button gets stuck, and I can't start my washer half the time. It also tends to retain some water in the bottom and smell musty and mildew-y--something my old top loader never did. I loathe this washer, and I wish I had NEVER gotten a front loader. Run, run from this washing machine, or you may come to regret it like we have.

Not Pleased With The Maytag Performance Series 3000

1

This washer does not get my clothes clean. Stains, even though treated, do not wash out. Crumbs and pet hair that were on items when they went in the washer are still there when wash is finished. Although the water level is a mere puddle the washer seems unable to extract it. Items are pratically dripping wet when pulled from the washer thus an extra thirty minutes to an hour has to be added to drying time. Causing me to use more energy than with my previous washer!!! I am extremely unhappy with this washer and even more unhappy that I am stuck with it.
