I bought this machine 4 months ago after my previous Maytag finally bit the dust. I really like this washer and while washers are not generally exciting this is one to jump for joy about. Excellent design, very easy to use, reliable and it is priced right. My old washer used a lot more energy compared to this new one and it certainly shows in my electric bill each month. I also like how it rinses and spins nearly all of the water out of my clothes. It doesn't leave any soap or residue behind and it's relatively quiet for a washer and has not developed any squeaks or unusual noises since I bought it. It has been working great so far and hopefully that continues to be the case. Maytag is known for making genuinely great appliances and the MHWE550 is no exception and should certainly be on your list if you are looking for a front load washer. Just make sure to shop around for a good price like I did. Durability I had to take one star off my review because after many more months of use it did develop a strange film in the water outlet area. I suspect it may be because of the local water quality but should it create a buildup?

I bought a full house full of Maytag appliances because they had rebates. We sent in all the rebates and reciepts and Maytag will not send us the rebates. They stalled for a year and are now saying that the rebate has expired and there is nothing they can do. In my opinion they are a very shady company, or at least the rebate center is.

I have 4 kids and alot of clothes, especially having 2 babies! So I needed a washer. I went out looking for a small washer because I had limited space, but I also needed a really good washer. I saw the Maytag Front Load Washer MHWE950WW, it was the right size 4.5 cu. ft capacity (Depth: 32 in., Height: 38 in., Width: 27 in.). Perfect to do large loads, but just right to fit in a corner. It also had a bunch of features, allergen removal with steam, power cycle, self clean and more. It is Energy Star Compliant as well. So I purchased it, now a year later and still running smoothly. I love it! It is a stackable washer, so you can also purchase the Maytag Front Load Electric Dryer, 7.2 cu. ft capacity and then you can stack it on top of the washer. Personally, I think that saves a lot of space. It runs so quiet, it wouldn't even disturb a sleeping baby. It really thoroughly cleans clothes and it doesn't need a lot of laundry detergent (a 1/2 of a tide cap is enough). It has different water temperatures, soil levels and different spin cycles speeds (water temp: cold, warm, hot or sanitize, soil levels: light, normal or heavy soil and spin cycle speeds: no spin, low, medium, high or max extract). You can also add an extra rinse, max spin independently or steam to varying cycles. It also has a 3 second hold button that locks the buttons, this feature is good for people that have kids that love to touch. The washer also has Dynamic Venting Technology, which is a built in fan that helps keep your clean laundry from smelling bad for up to 10 hours after the washer has stopped. It also comes with a 10 year warranty. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. I recommend this washer to anyone that has kids or just lots of dirty clothes.

Repair required in less than 1 month after purchase. Washer was brand new to retail stores. We bought "bleeding edge" technology. Washer has trouble spinning out certain loads. Load must be completely weight balance. One throw rug will not spin. Small loads will not spin out and remain sopping wet. After a couple of weeks the washer would intermittently go into "sensing mode" over and over and not spin out the load. Tried every cycle one day and after 7 hrs on one load gave up. Contacted service, service came out, cycled washer through a load fine. A&E Service said, since nothing "appeared to be wrong" if they came out again for this issue, it would not be covered under warranty. It happened again in less than a week. Contacted Maytag directly instead of going through the normal warranty service contacts. Washer had been in "sensing mode" on one load for over 2 hours. Maytag agreed there was definitely something wrong and put us in contact with a service rep in our area of their choice, not the choice of the store of purchase, A&E. Maytag said if they could not fix the problem, they would replace the unit. Exactly what a reputable company should do. When the technician arrived he listened to our symptoms and ordered a new computer board (the brains of all new machines). It was install and we have not had any issues spinning out loads since. Repair technician said, he had a report of the same issue, the same day our came in. Maytag also issued a new system board for that repair. Since then, machine spins fine EXCEPT if you try to put one or two items in. Not enough to balance the load, same as what would happen in a top load machine. This machine take a long time to go through each cycle. A regular load is an hour, a heavy load and hour and a half, a super clean loan 2 and a half hours. It uses minimal detergent and cleans the laundry excellent. In conclusion, if you bought one of the fist Maytag Maxima's to hit store shelves, you may need to contact Maytag. Huge capacity means less loads, less water, less detergent, excellent cleaning. Hopefully the machine will continue to perform as well as my last 13 year old Maytag did. When I bought this washing machine about 5 months ago, I was excited and could not wait to use it. LOL!!! I really like the many cycle options that is available to use. Front loader washing machines are pretty neat to have. My 5 year old son loves to sit there and watch it get sudsy through the window. I would for sure recommend this particular brand. Maytag has always been a very trust worthy brand in my house hold. I have never had any troubles with this washing machine. It is very delicate on my clothes and it does the job of getting every clothes item completely clean and smelling great! I also love the way you put your washing powders, clorox and fabric softner in the slide out drawer, then start it and it does all the work on it's own. I will never go back to the old fashion washing machines again..

I love my Maytag Front Load washer because my clothes come out smelling very clean. Also, I am able to wash bigger loads and I don't have to worry about the water level - it's done for me!! Another thing I love, is that I put in the clothes, add my detergent, softner, bleach, etc. I don't have to worry about paying attention to the time to come back and add anything - this saves me time because I am able to concentrate on other things.

I just love Maytag washer and dryers. I got married in 1982 and had a maytag washer and dryer. Then when it finally went caput...years later...I got another Maytag set. I got this front loader, which is the first one I've ever owned, about 4 months ago. I am totalling loving it. My clothes smell cleaner and I have so much more room than I thought I would. Much more than in my previous washers which were all Maytags. It's quieter and I have many more options that I did before. Plus it looks great!! :-) I don't know why it took me so long to get a front loader as I didn't really think I'd like them at all. My sister in law bought one about 5 years ago then my daughters mother in law bought one and from listening to them both, they convinced me because my next one was going to be another top loader like I've been use to. A front loader does make a huge difference cause you just have so much more room. You will not regret owning one of these.

This washer is just what I've been wanting and needing. I can get sooo many clothes in their and they come out SO much cleaner then my old washer that was a top loading machine. Both of the washers I've ever owned were both Maytag. You can't go wrong with a maytag. I think very highly of Maytag brand washers as well as dryers! I love that this washer has a delicate cycle option.

I have been using this Maytag Front Load Washer for a couple of years now and it hasn't disappointed me not once since I have been using it. My previous washing machines were very noisy and they just would not wash my clothes properly. But not the Maytag Front Load Washer , this Maytag Washing Machine is just perfect for me.Firstly, this washing machine really washes my clothes effectively it nicely powers through those tough stains and leaves my clothes smelling nice and clean everytime. This washing machine is also very quiet and easy to use and roomy. This washing machine has also got a nice style. I love its modern colour and design as it matches perfectly with the decor I was going for. I really love my Maytag Front Load Washer.

I own this Maytag Washer for almost a year now, and I just love it! The clothes wash very nice, the machine is quiet for my apartment and it seems like it is going to serve me a lot more years to come. I love the design of the washer and the best part is that it is very spacious. Fits many clothes including my comforter. I love Maytag as a brand and this one is also very reliable and I am glad I bought this. There are many different options, some are preset, like hand-wash, whites, normal wash, and other options and then you can choose different temperatures high, medium, low which is nice because when you push delicates, it is automatically set to cold water and you don't have to put that manually. Overall I would recommend it to a friend :)
