Maytag Neptune Washer —

We have had the Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set, for quite some time. We  had a factory recall on the washer at their expense. Apparently they did not perfect this product fully before it went on sale. The washer, when you open the door a smell hits you after it has been used awhile.. To temporarily get rid of this smell, you have to do the recommended  procedure from Maytag, which is time consuming and uses more detergent (dishwasher detergent & bleach). Also you need a toothbrush to clean around the ring inside the door. The dryer as far as I am concerened, does not filter the lint properly.

Having been a loyal customer of Maytag for 30 years, this washer and dryer set up STINKS.

I agree 100%. Maytag customer service service (make that the opposite of customer service!) could care less. My set is 4 years old and didn't have a problem til this year. At first I couldn't pinpoint the problem, then the smell became so awful you couldn't mistake it. bleach doesn't help, nor borax, not affresh which is the product Maytag sells to "clean" their washers. I have replaced 2 motherboards at a cost of $400 dollars each time. The next step is to have the "boots" replaced at the bottom of the door, acutally its not the next step for me,I will replace this truly terrible product and advertise to anyone out there that they should not purchase it.

Sosorry for her maybe she didnt know you have to wash the machine with a half cup bleach every 2 weeks ..but guess what I've had mine 1 year and I havent had to clean the machine yet no smells . But I only wear my cloths one day .the lint trap doesnt trap correctly, that is true.gets lint on both sides
