We have had Matag products in our family for over 40 years with Great results so when I built a new house in 1998, we wanted a Maytag Neptune front loader to save energy & water in our septic.  I have has so many repairs I lost count. I spent more money on extended warranties, I could have just bought another model.  I have gotten a new drum, new computer board, the "anti- smell" kit recall, new soap dispenser, new motor, new belt...not sure what else.  I did have a great local repair company that told me to get the extended warranty & wait 30 days to get it fixed the first time.  Glad I did since it was one of many trips he had to make back.  My Extended warranty is done now, so the next time it breaks, I'll be looking for something different. Sad too, since they were a matched pair & are seen right when you walk in our back door.  I woudn't recommend them, the repair man recommended the Whirlpool Duet.  I'll be checking them out next time.
