When I renovated my house, I purchased the Maytag Freestanding Electric Range along with other products like juicers, cookers and so on and was happy that the products were shipped very soon. It was very easy initially to install the electric range but I was not able to operate the product for about a week as it was quite different from the previous electric range I owned and so I had to refer to the user manual often. The product has electronic touch oven controls and it works without having any internal noise. Cooking is done quickly on this oven and it takes barely 10 minutes to cook one dish completely. Cleaning is done more quickly and I just use a dry cloth to clean the top of the electric range. The product is quite heavy in weight but the product looks elegant and great. The product has a feature which shuts it down automatically after the cooking time is over.

I purchased the Maytag Freestanding Electric Range to replace an drop in range oven combination in my kitchen. My choices for free standing ranges were limited because I do not have gas hook up. This unit is sleek looking with black top and stainless, but it only stays that way if you constantly clean it. I was happy with the ovens cooking temperature for baking. I did not like using the range top. As a very active cook, I was so scared of scratching the surface with my heavy pots that I would avoid using some of my beloved pots. Keeping the black top clean was very hard. The black range top always looked dirty. We ultimately exchanged this range, within a month, for another similar range that had coil top. I would recommend this free standing range if you are used to using a flat top range. Heat Distribution I found the oven baked cakes evenly. Durability I was very scared the top was going to scratch or crack easily. Ease of Cleaning It was hard to keep top clean.

This range we have had probably 2 years I would say maybe longer. We have yet to have any problems with it. It hasn't broke in any aspect it is still fully functional. It is very easy and simple to use and the built in timer and other features are very helpful. I love that the top has a flat surface cook top. I enjoy the fact that it is also electric and the stainless steel look goes with most of the other appliances I have in my kitchen. This cook top is great for beginner cooks it is not complicated and it is very well controlled in it's cooking and temp control. I would suggest that if you have this to buy a vent to go over it though to suck up some of the vapors and smoke that naturally come off food. Temperature Control Seems good to me I have never had problems with it. Heat Distribution Everything seems nice and even. Durability Has yet to break or have any kind of problems. Design Sleek I love the stainless steel look. Ease of Cleaning Kind of hard to clean but aren't all cook tops?

We got this model Maytag after our old Maytag range finally broke and couldn't be fixed after more than 15 years. Since we had such a good time with our previous model, we knew we couldn't go wrong buying the same brand again. We've been very happy with this model, its performance, how it looks, etc. Everything we were hoping for and more! Temperature Control We found it to be easy to control. Temperature adjustments are very responsive. Changes happen very quickly. It has a lot of range and is very accurate (we've checked it). Heat Distribution Very good. We use a variety of pots and pans made out of different materials (aluminum, aluminum clad, copper, cast iron, stainless steel) and ALL have performed well on this stove. Not real hot or cold spots. Even distribution of heat. Durability So far, so good. I hope it lasts as long as our last Maytag. Design Very appealing on the eyes. Nice layout. Controls within easy reach. Easy to use, adjust, change, etc. Ease of Cleaning Flat top makes it very easy!

When I was shopping for new appliances for my new home salespeople at various stores lavished great praise on this freestanding range. I, however, have been less than impressed. The ease of cleaning that is promised is simply not true for my stove top. While it works well I am mostly disappointed that it doesn't stand up to the wipe and go that was pushed by the salesmen across various stores. The oven is average. Like I said in the title it does its job however it does little more. Temperature Control I feel like it goes from tepid to a roaring boil in about five seconds. Ease of Cleaning I was promised a ease of cleaning that parallels no other. A stove top that would look brand new for years to come. After two or three meals my stove top looked like it had been used for years.

It is electric so will take some time to get used to if you had gas before. But it is quicker than older versions. I like the option to use is as extra counter space, one flat surface is so convenient compared to gas range. I don't really like the size of burners or I just have wrong size cookware. The biggest one is of no use for me so far. Also further burners are too close to handles so it's not convenient to switch them while there is a pot in use. Oven is good, even though it takes a while to preheat it. But it's electric, so it is expected. All in all, i rent this places so it comes with, not the worst one I used but if I'd be buying for myself, I'd probably go with a different model: I want more space between the switches and burners.

I have had my range for about three years cooking on it slmost daily. I have really enjoyed all the options that the range has to offer with my favorite being the convection oven. Temperature Control The oven works very well for baking and anything else I throw at it. The cook top is very convient having the different size burners and all. Heat Distribution The oven and sove top are both very good at distributing heat well and even cooking. Durability When we moved our oven it now has a large dent in the stainless steel at the top and bottom. I am not sure if it was from moving on the actually material didn't hold up very well. I recommend being extremely careful if you have to move the stainless stell one. Ease of Cleaning I use Weimen's stainless steel polish

I love my Maytag oven and range! The glass cook top is easy to use, it warms evenly and cooks very well. It cleans up nicely, the best product I've found to keep it clean is a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I love that it has a convection setting for baking. I love the different self-cleaning options it has, as well. It looks awesome in my home and I get compliments on it all the time. I'm very pleased with the performance and appearance of this oven and range. Temperature Control I feel that I have great temperature control with this oven. Heat Distribution Heat distribution is great, especially when using the convection setting. Durability I've had my oven for about 6 months now and it has held up great. Design This oven and range look beautiful. They look high-end and classy. Ease of Cleaning The glass cook top cleans up great with just soap and water, or use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for hard, cooked-on messes. The oven has 2 self-cleaning options; one is a steam-clean and the other uses oven cleaner. Both work great!

After the first use the oven gave off an odor and fumes from the self cleaning system that came through after ever use. The smell is horrible, makes your eyes burn, cough and not able to breathe . You have to open windows and turn on the fans. The smooth surface disclored after the first use.

Our Maytag MER7662WS Electric Range (in stainless steel) was a builder upgrade. It has been the worse range!! I would not recommend this model (or Maytag in general) to anyone. It's terrible! With in the first week of us moving in to our new home the entire unit had to be replaced. It was sparking from the back...HELLO FIRE HAZZARD! Within a year the replacement unit would not heat past 190 degrees. Later we found out this is a very common issue with Maytags! We had to have a technician come out to replace parts (leaving our oven out of commission for 2 days). I was thrilled to have a sleek flat cooktop... well these scratch so horribly easily! You pretty much have to baby this stove and be careful of every pan you place on top. I followed manufacturer care instructions to the T and still... scratches everywhere. The oven does not cook evenly (even though we had it worked on). I can not wait for this unit to finally die so I can replace it. I do not recommend it at all!
