Maytag FIRE HAZARD Model MDC4100AWX Dishwasher Review

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL MAYTAG DISHWASHER OWNERS!!

If you own a Maytag Dishwasher you need to call 1 800 688 9900 to find out if your is a Fire Hazard.

Mine is Model MDC4100AWX, but it is not the only model involved!

You will find your model number in the upper left hand corner of the inside frame when you open the door.

I received a card that I thought was for an extended warranty and threw it away. Silly mistake I'll never make again!

Thank Goodness I received a 2nd one telling me to call 1 800 688 9900  to answer some questions because my Maytag Dishwasher may be a Fire hazard;especially if I ever used any rinse product like Jet Dry. Naturally tell them yes whether you have or not because you may in the future then what?

I called the number and answered the questions only to find out that mine was among those that are a fire hazard. It took about a total of two minutes more. Once it was determined that it was among the fire hazards a real person came on the line.

He then took my name & address and explained my options. $75 off a new Maytag Dishwasher or to have this one repaired by the Maytag man for Free! Service Call and All! .His main conversation was the options, explaining them, and asking me which I perferred! I could have asked him all the questions I had, not having many questions made for the 2 minute call. If you have more questions naturally it will take longer but who cares, just so you get things straight and cared for.

I opted to have it fixed since I can not at this time afford a new one, $75 off or not. The parts were then Fed Ex'ed to me within 2 days and I was given a number to call for service. 

The number given to me was 1-800-675-4008, yours may be different.  But Don't Worry ... it will be on a Big Orange Tag on Parts Box! You then call that number and set up you appointment or the man who comes on the line if it is determined yours is a Fire Hazard May give you a different number to call to make things more speedy for you as he did for me. I imagine that it has to do with what part of the states you are from.

All repairs will be made for free just as the parts were. I am so glad I didn't over look the second letter from them. A fire is the last thing I need in my life. I have more problems than I can handle as it is, but even More Important a Family that I Love!

SO REMEMBER...The first number I gave is the main Maytag number, which I am sure if you tell them you are calling to check if your dishwasher is among the dishwashers that are fire hazards that they will connect you to the proper Department or give you the correct number to call. I unfortunately no longer have that number, just the Main Maytag number and the number I gave you for the service call once you receive your parts, not to repeat myself,  but it will be on the parts box that s Fed ex'ed just in case it's different in other parts of the Country. The main number is listed on the dishwasher door so that should be correct everywhere.

Even though I gave my Model Number DO NOT FORGET OTHER MODEL NUMBERS CAN AND ARE INVOLVED ALSO! SO WRITE IT DOWN BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR PHONE CALL.  It will definitely make the call much easier rathere than trying to push it in while reading it from the dishwasher and in turn make it EASIER TO FIND OUT IF YOURS IS AMONGST THE ONES INVOLVED so as not to make any phoneos  like I do typos (due to my RA unless I at least double check it seeing that there are many time it likes my typos)!

Actually no model numbers were given in the letter of Warning! It was just a letter emphasing to call and find out if yours is amongst those that are Fire Hazards!

 PLEASE PASS THIS ON to any other Maytag dishwasher owners you know. God Forbid should anyone suffer a fire.Good Luck To All!
