The Bottom Line:  If you want to save money on the price of a dryer & then save on energy costs & time doing laundry, this is for you!

We just returned home from a 2 week Scandinavia/Russian cruise with 2 weeks of laundry to do. With my body clock way off, I was up in 4 hours so I did the large load of whites in my front load washer. Then put the darks in as final load & whites were in my Kenmore dryer that was 7 years old & out of warranty. 10 minutes later smoke detectors go off & the dryer is on fire. Luckily the clothes were damp & I got them out as husband took the hose & got it out. So I have 2 loads of wet laundry & no dryer.

H H Gregg is in our area with same day delivery that they advertise heavily, so I give them a call. They have "get the same discount as our employees" going on, but first we went to Lowe's but delivery won't be til Tuesday since Monday is Memorial Day & union delivery doesn't work weekends or holidays. Then we went to Home Depot but delivery not for a week. SO H H Gregg opens up & we run in straight to dryers. The salesman & the Manager both came over & I was shown a G E for $250 but no whistles & bells. And he mentions a great dryer with great reviews in consumer reports & the Maytag was the start. With the air flow much higher in a 7 cu ft space you save energy as I save water with my G E front load. $280 was the price & he could have it delivered since we are 10 blocks from their warehouse, within the hour for $80. We took it.

Sure enough this amazing dryer was delivered by the time the almost burnt load was re-washed, they include the duct out the window & the servicemen changed the door from right open to left open, so I can just pitch in from the washer. 20 minutes for 2 weeks of whites to dry & not a wrinkle! THIS IS HEAVEN TO ME!!!!!!!

Then I took my king size goose down comforter inside a duvet & washed it in the front load & put it in the dryer & 45 minutes it was fluffed & dry & inside the duvet with all 4 corners where they belong with all the room inside.   Towels fluff right up and look so thick when folded as do our terry robes. I am ready to do their ad!!!!!

If you want a low price dryer that has 100 minutes cycle, which I don't even come close to using, as well as a wetness alert cycle I think it is called, that the dryer knows when to turn off the heat as the items are dry & keeps going with cool air til you show up. This is great when you are trying to cut grass & doing laundry.

Great warranty and one hell of a signal that is so loud upstairs to the living room or 2nd floor office, it scared me, so it is very loud. The fileter is so eas yto clean also.  Just pulls out of the front, about 7" long, take a dryer sheet that was used to wipe off & put back in.

After seeing other dryers with no great features that looked drab & then you see the Maytag, you know it is for you. My sweater/shoe drying shelf fits in it. I also use dryer balls, so I need no fabric softener or sheets & they attack items to speed up drying. King size sheets are done in 10 minutes. So that is a time saver as well as an energy saver. Great price & not expensive to run.
