Maybelline Shinylicious Lip Gloss —

It's really hard for me to get out of a drugstore without buying a new lip gloss.  If I'm just running in and out I can usually skip the gloss but if I'm waiting for a prescription or just killing time I almost always end up walking out with at least one new gloss.

One of the brands that always catches my eye is OK Maybelline Shiny-licious Lip Gloss.  The colors just look so fruity and yummy and colorful in the tubes that I cannot resist them. I generally don't like lip gloss in this type of soft plastic tube as the applicator with the hole in the middle grosses me out but this one I like.  The slanty tip on the applicator is covered in a flocked type of material which is nice and soft and allows me to have more control during application.

This gloss is quite thick and rich.  It is also quite shiny and leaves just a trace of added color on my lips.  I'd prefer a bit more color so I can wear it alone so I just wear it over the top of a lip stain for added color.  Because Shinylicious is so thick it's also fairly long lasting.  I only need to reapply every 2 hours or so which is better than most glosses.

Although Shinylicious smells great (like bubble gum and cherry Koolaid) it doesn't taste like much.  When I lick my lips I pick up a faint Kool Aid taste but it's not so delicious that I find myself eating my own lips trying to get a taste of the gloss.

4 stars - recommended although I find it a bit expensive at six bucks.
