Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation — 

Having seen how wonderful Bare Escentials looks on my daughter & me, I decided I'd try this TYPE of makeup on a "wannabe" but at a cheaper price.  Picked up Mineral Power at Walmart.  Applied a little on nose and under eyes and face area.  Within minutes my face began to itch and felt "hot".  I immediately washed it off.  The itch never stopped.  Next day face was red in areas where makeup had been applied.  The burning/itching continued without easing up.  Next day was worse.  Went to Skin Center.  They agreed it appeared to be a allergic reaction, but since the ingredients were not listed on the makeup itself they could not specify what ingredient caused the allergy.  The red and itching never let up.  Applied cortisone 1%, took Benadryl.  The appearance continued to get worse along with the burning itching of skin.  This continued for approximately 2 weeks steady.  I notified Maybelline of this problem 2/13/08. Received written response via email 2/14 apologizing for inconvenience & instructing me to call them. As of today 2/19/08 it is obvious that skin on face has sustained burns, texture has changed as if skin has been burned and still a slight sensation as if I have a "sun burn".  If you have even the slightest idea you have sensitive skin DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.
