Let me just say that this product is a part of my life. Even when I go out with no make-up, I must do my eyebrows and I only use the Maybelline Expert Eyes brow pencil.
I've always had fairly thick eyebrows that were very unflattering but since I was young, I could care less. Then high school came and I suddenly became aware of my looks. I was watching a show on television and a well known make-up artist was showing viewers how to tweeze and shape their eyebrows. I decided to try it and after a little pain, blood and my mother yelling in my ear to leave my eyebrows alone, I was left with... NO EYEBROWS! I just had a faint sliver of a brow. I looked like one of the guys in Marilyn Manson's band. I almost cried. Actually, I did.
I tried to create a new set of eyebrows with my mom's eyeliner but I ended up looking like the daughter of Groucho Marx. I refused to go to school the next day, but of course I had to, so I hid away from my friends and classmates. But that didn't last. My friends all said,"What did you do!?" I was so embarrassed.
One day I went to see a good friend who didn't go to my school and she showed me the right way to draw in my eyebrows. She used the Maybelline Expert Eyes Brow pencil in Auburn ( I had dyed my hair auburn that time) and demonstrated that in order to create a natural look you need to use short feathery strokes, not one long line. She made my eyebrows look so good and my whole face looked different. I had my character back and my eyes looked bigger and brighter... I loved it.
So after, that I grew my eyebrows out fully and tweezed them again, this time I was very careful not to overpluck! I created a wonderful arch that really flattered my face shape and I received many compliments on them. I've always stuck with Maybelline Expert Eyes Brow Pencil because of the smooth application, true color that does not turn ashy or shimmery and a great price... about three bucks for two pencils.
I use the black brow pencil now because that's my natural coloring, but there is a color for everyone even the woman with grey hair. The short pencil makes for easy handling and portability. One drawback of Maybelline Expert Eyes Brow pencil is that it is not waterproof...you have to make sure you don't touch your eyebrows or they will smudge. Believe me, I've been through the half an eyebrow bit and it is not funny (but to other people it is).
Despite all that, I love this product and I will never use another... it is my trademark product. I highly recommend Maybelline Expert Eyes Twin Brow pencils. Another thing, DON"T NEGLECT YOUR EYEBROWS! They need attention, too.
