Tried the rest, now try the best!

have short, straight lashes, saddled with wimpy lashes, not a beauty diva, cost-conscious, desire a natural look

O.K....I am not a beauty or cosmetics expert. I do not even love wearing make-up. But I will admit that that there are times when make-up is pretty necessary. Events, parties, school functions, meeting new people, celebrating, bar hopping (ha ha).

If you are going to commit to wearing make-up, ya kinda gotta do the whole package. If you do concealer and eyeliner, ya should probably do eye shadow, then you kind of have to add mascara to the mix to get rid of the powder on your lashes...you get the point.

I always swore I would never use mascara. I think growing up, my mother used too much of it, and it scared me. When she blinked, her eyes "clicked". I thought to myself "That cannot be comfortable!" I also have allergies and rub and itch my eyes sometimes, and hated smearing black stuff across my face. But I finally committed to using mascara about 5 years ago and had to find one I liked. Luckily, I have an Aunt who is a cosmetic junkie and passes along lots of make-up to myself and others (fellow Viewpointer PattyTherre...you might know her...).

I tried ALOT of them, most of them expensive (thanks to my Aunt). But ya know what? My favorite ended up being a very inexpensive one - Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. It is not too thick, doesn't clump easily, goes on easy, lasts long, doesn't have a horrible smell, and did I mention it is inexpensive? (I swear, that's not why I like it!) I did not know this until recently, but now there are celebrities and models (that can use ANYTHING they want) swearing by this mascara. I guess I am not crazy! I give this product 5 stars.
