I've never been one to wear a lot of makeup. I've always preferred a natural look and tried to instill this virtue into my 3 girls. I also wanted them to know that some drugstore brand cosmetics are better than others and that you don't always have to spend a fortune to look good. Enter Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Soft Black.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Soft Black is actually the first mascara I ever used as a teen. I still use it today. When I find the budget is pinched, I will pick up Maybelline Great Lash Mascara over other brands that cost twice as much. Why? It works! I introduced all three of my girls to Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Soft Black and I know at least one of them still uses it to this day.

Maybelline makes the following claims on this mascara: doesn't clump, conditions as it thickens, safe for contact lens wearers, lash doubling formula glides on smoothly, full lash look with lash building brush, hypoallergenic.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara is also available in Very Black, Blackest Black, Brownish Black, Dark Brown and Royal Blue.

My Thoughts on Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Soft Black

I use the soft black shade for everyday use. It looks more natural to me and I reserve the darker black for evenings out or those occasions when a more formal attire is required.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Soft Black works pretty good for me. It is easy to apply, doesn't clump, easy to remove, and makes my lashes look much fuller than they really are. The only time I've experienced clumping is when the mascara is getting old, and this is when you should toss it anyway. Remember to replace mascara every 3-4 months to avoid contamination and to never share with friends or relatives!

For under $5.00, I think this mascara is a true bargain. I've paid 3 times more for mascara before that couldn't compare to Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Soft Black, which left me with some serious clumping that just made my lashes look worse with the mascara than without it.

Overall I think that Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Soft Black is a true gem! It's great for teens who are just learning how to apply makeup and great for anyone that wants a decent mascara that doesn't cost a fortune. You can count on Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Soft Black! I give it 4.5 Stars!

I used to use this all the time. Whatever will I do when my free sample of lancome wears out. my eyelashes quite working with this or maybe they changed the formula.
