Maybelline Forever Strong Iron Nail Color —

I don't really wear colored nail polish too much, but I need something to keep my nails strong! So I went shopping in search of some clear nailpolish, and Maybelline ForeverStrong +Iron was on sale for only 2$ so I had to try it.

The bottle
This .5 oz bottle is clear and a short chubby shape. I prefer this to the tall skinny bottles which are harder to use. The brush can't touch the bottom (which I never understood about nail polish) but since it is short I can tell it will be easy for me to tilt it and get the remainder out when I'm down to the bottom.

Applying it
It goes on smooth and really easy. The brush is almost an inch long which seems to improve application because you can soak the brush with liquid, than do multiple fingers before redipping. I also noticed it wasn't sticky at all like my last clear nail polish, and it came out effortlessly. I only use one coat of clear b/c usually nail polish chips easier if you put too many coats. It felt dry within a few minutes, but I'm cautious so I didn't touch anything for 20 minutes.

The look
It gave my nails a little shine, just enough to look clean and neat. I find that when I have no clear polish on, my nails look dry. So I like the little shine this clear polish gives me.

The strength
My nails haven't broken once since I bought this, and they usually break quite a bit! They do feel stronger and I'm not so worried about clumsy me breaking them on something. They are so strong that sometimes I've let them grow longer than usual and found it was actually kind of tough to file them down to normal length! That's a great plus of the product.

The conclusion
Since I wear clear nail polish, I don't really notice it chipping (that's part of the reason I wear clear!) But when I do look at my nails after a week, it is mostly gone. I bought this on sale, but it's normal price is 4.75. I might have paid that, however I probably would have waited or looked for a better sale. So far this seems very worth it, and I still have a lot to go. If it's on sale again, I'll probably stock up. It's not necessarily for the looks, just for helping your nails get stronger.  Enjoy!

Yeah that's my problem. Ever since I started using this stuff though, I can leave them bare for a long time before they get brittle. They are much stronger overall :)

I need to get something back on mine. When I leave them bear, they get so brittle and break away.--Karen
