Expert eyes just about anyone can do

4

Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quades - Velvet Crush #20 is easy to use and goes on evenly. It offers some beautiful colors that I can use for day and night to be every day wear or night time spectacular. The case is nice, I can tuck it away in my purse, but the good news is I rarely need to reapply it especially because when I do wear it, this eye shadow is mostly for night wear for me. It blends well so if I do make a mistake I don't have to take it all off and reapply it. The applicator sponges leave a little something to be desired. they are easy to lose and there is really not enough sponge to go around, if you know what I mean. I would go pick up the e.l.f. eye shadow brush to use. Overall, nice price, easy to find and long wearing. That's expert eyes even I can do!

Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads - Velvet Crush #20

The Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads - Velvet Crush #20 is one of the many eyeshadows I have treid over the years. The Velvet Crush colors are a nice shade. There is a nice soft pink, silverish purple, gray purple and dark gray included in this quad. The outer case of the Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads - Velvet Crush #20 tells you where to apply each shade (brow bone, lid etc.). This an affordable compact. The Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads - Velvet Crush #20 is easy to apply and tends to look good on many skin tones. The eyeshadow does crease after a long day. I have yet to find an eyeshadow that does not do this. I like the colors and can blend them together. I have tried mixing some of the shades and like the results. The Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads - Velvet Crush #20 is generally inexpensive. The quads are available in other colors and most stores carry several different shades.

Pretty decent Eyeshadow

When I first saw this eyeshadow at the store I thought it was pretty cool that it said where to apply it on the eye wrtten on the eyeshadow, each color had a different area of where to apply it. i thought that i would for sure use it the way they said to. Once I got home and started to apply it, I didn't really like the way it was looking the way they said to do it so in the end i ended up just doing it the way I wanted and then i like it alot better. Some of the colors weren't good in the spots it said to apply it to the eye. Now I pretty much think it is pointless to have it written on the eyeshadow where to apply it because in the end you probably won't wear it the way it says. They do have alot of nice colors and I would buy this brand again, probably wouldn't wear it the way they have it written on the eyeshadow but the colors are still really nice and work well the way you want to wear it. I would reccomend this brand of eyeshadow to others.

Pretty nice for the price

I have tried Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quades-Velvet Crush. It was not a bad purchase, for the amount of money they charge for a four color pallete of eyeshadow. I wouldn't recommended it to people who are used to using more professional products though and the applicators kind of suck. If you have your own eye makeup brushes, then the shadow is pretty good and you are able to blend nicely for the color look you are going for. I didn't like that after a few hours I felt like I was sweating it off or it was getting a little bit of a creased look to it if I used the darker colors more than the lighter ones. the lighter ones couldn't show the creasing as much, so i ended up doing a lighter look when I would use this makeup for a day look. It was an average to nice eyeshadow combination over all, but I think I would probably go with a different choice the second time around rather than buy this again.

Maybelline is a tried and true brand!

I normally don't purchase Maybelline eyeshadows but this was the first time I had noticed this kind. I like the back of the package which shows and eye and where to apply the shadow (i.e. - 1 goes on your lid, 2 goes on your crease, etc). I am very dumb when it comes to applying eyeshadow so I enjoyed having it tell me exactly what and where to apply the shadow. I often do not use the outer corner or crease colors (which are typically darker) during the day time because I really like a natural look. When I'm going out at night I will use the darker colors. This shadow does not stay on very long which is why I gave it 4 star rating. As with most eyeshadows, I did not like the applicators which come with the shadow. I use an ELF concealer brush to apply the shadow. I can easily transfer the brush from light colors to dark without mixing them because I just blow the extra off the brush. An applicator brush doesn't allow this.

Versatile and easy to follow

I was rather impressed with Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Quads. I have it in Velvet Crush as well as Amethyst Smokes, which is part of the Stylish Smokes line. I originally got into this product because I was looking for a nice purple eyeshadow. I had some other trio palette but apparently it got discontinued because, to this day, I can't find it. But I love wearing purple eyeshadow. I'm in a band and sometimes I just need that little spunk in my eyes. However, finding purple eyeshadow was harder than I thought. I came across the Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Quad, and my prayers were answered. They are the perfect colors for an easy smoky eye. I could see how it would be beneficial to the beginner, because it provides directions on which color should go where on the back. However, being an eyeshadow junkie, I tend to stray from the typical "smokey eye" and the colors still look great together. You can use 2 colors for a casual look, or all 4 for a dramatic look. In that sense, it's very versatiel. It goes on relatively vibrantly after the use of an eye shadow primer. If you don't have an eyeshadow primer, I recommend putting some liquid foundation over your eyelid. This gives the eyeshadow something to cling to, and makes the colors brighter. If you're into department store makeup, look into the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, it's great. I didn't like several things about this product though. It tends not to stay on the entire day, and it's a little too powdery. So when I put it on my brush I have to make sure to tap it on my wrist to remove excess powder, or else it'll go everywhere. And even then, it takes a lot of coats to get a dark enough color because I'm tapping off so much powder from the brush! I also feel that it can be too sparkley for a lot of people, but I love the sparkle. :D The highlighter shade that's supposed to go under the brow bone is a tad on the matte side compared to the rest of the shades, so I use my own highlighter color. Overall, it's a great product for a great price. With an eyeshadow primer and a few tips, I'm sure anyone could get their desired results, provided it is a drugstore eyeshadow.

Maybelline Velvet Crush is my go to eye shadow!

4

I use Maybelline, Expert Eyeware, Velvet Crush pretty routinely. As a matter of fact, I am wearing it right now! I love the colors. You can mix and match the 4 different color quadrants or you can use all 4. Sometimes I use all 4 to really glam it up. Other times, I use only 2 colors for a more day time work look. It is very easy to use and each color quadrant has an imprint of where it should go (lid, brow, crease, etc.). I find this very helpful! It goes on smooth, blends well, and stays put. The velvet crush colors (pink/purple-ish colors) are great for my green eyes, but I am sure would work beautifully for any eye color. This makeup is powder and not liquid, which I prefer. The only negative I can think of is that there is no mirror with the eyeshadow compact. If you are using it at home that is fine, but if you are on the go it is a bit of a downside. Make sure you also carry a mirror in your purse! A definate recommend!

Perfect smoky eye

I like these colors. I have really pale skin and I like darker eye shadow but not to dark for my skin color. I like mabelline products. I think it is a little to powderery but I like it. I just put it on to of a liquid eyeshadow and it stays on longer and looks great.

Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Quad's make a smoky eye easy!

5

I love all versions of the Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Quads.  I especially like how it is printed directly on the colors where on the eye they should be placed.  This makes it simple to get a perfect smoky eye.  I own the Velvet Crush and feel it realy brings out the blue in my eyes.  I wear it any time I wear a purple outfit.

too powdery....

1

I saw the ad for this product in one of my magazines and got so excited about it. It comes in a lot of color combinations.   When I got home, I tried it on right away.  But to my dismay, it looks too powdery on my lids.  I thought maybe I just applied a little too much than I was supposed to, so wiped it clean and started anew.   Applying for the 2nd time, I applied less.  But then, it's like I am not wearing anything as the colors were too light,...  So there's only two way to go,.... Too light?  or too powdery?
